Back Home Again In….Kentucky?

Filed under: The Disciple Blogs — Disciple of INDYCAR @ 12:48 pm

Saturday night is the night! It’s the Indy Racing Series return to an IRL born and bred oval venue. This track is one of the new breed. There is not a bad seat in the house, the track is wide and the racing is usually great. Here’s hoping the road racing enthusiasts that have invaded Indy Racing can keep their machines off the SAFER barriers long enough to provide mostly green flag racing.

There are many interesting story lines, but perhaps the best is the return of Sarah Fisher with quality primary sponsorship from Dollar General.

The thing about Kentucky is that someone unexpected could win the race. AJ Foyt IV, for example, finished 3rd last year. My pick for someone who actually deserves the win is Vitor Miera and Panther Racing. It is well beyond time for them to win. That win would make everyone in the joint quite happy.

The Defender crew should roll in about 4 on Saturday. Evidently a lot of our buddies will be there as well. Bring it on! Hopefully the cable partner will not preempt any part of it so as not to interfere with beach volleyball or some other niche sport deemed more important.
