Be Sure To Get a Strong Drink With an Umbrella in It

Frankly, I am a little disappointed with the entry list at St. Petersburg. Memo to Angstadt, Barnhart and crew: 20 or 21 on the grid will never cut it. You need 24. Minimum. You need to make that an immediate priority. palm-trees1

And what in the name of all that is holy is a recent vintage Indy 500 winner in the prime of his career doing walking around with a helmet but no ride? Does anyone besides me think Buddy Rice would be a great fit at Newman Haas Lanigan?

I wish the rescued champcar teams who relied on welfare last season could figure out a way to stand on their own for once.

Those who do not have Versus on their television systems yet should call their provider. It is never too late. Indy Car will be on the Sirius XM platform again this season. The Defender family is looking forward to hearing the radio team and seeing how fresh the new television crew is.

We are mere days away from St. Pete.

  1. You know…in all the hubbub over RHR and Paul Tracy, I entirely forgot about Buddy Rice. The man is a hell of a driver and would’ve gone much farther than he did if he’d been with better teams. He was lucky to be at RLR when they hit their prime in ’04-’05.

  2. Well, the list is now at 22 for St. Pete, Scheckter is starting at Long Beach.

Buddy Rice does not have a sponsor I gather. If GM filed the BK Chapter 11 or 7, will they be forced to cut back on their NASCAR programs? Could this cause a couple of sponsors to get behind a Buddy Rice in an Indy Car ride?
