Another Little IZOD Indy Car Track That Could

Filed under: The Disciple Blogs — Disciple of INDYCAR @ 3:31 pm

The Milwaukee Mile is back in business for the IZOD Indy Car Series. Randy Bernard wanted to ensure that it stays on the schedule, and that is a very smart move. That track has been around for over 100 years, hosting Indy Car events in most of them. Recently bad management and government have combined over the past few years to nearly kill it.

Fortunately, that trend may be turning around. Idiot Indy Car obsessed critics howl meaningless taunts such as ‘track rental’ but the creative ways employed to return that legendary drivers oval to the schedule goes much deeper.

As a die-hard fan I appreciate the effort. Tickets for the 2011 event are on sale right now, and I plan on picking some up. This race will take the place of Chicagoland for many in my party, so we will be making a weekend of it.

See you there!

  1. I loved Milwaukee–wish I still lived close to it; it was my old stomping grounds for years, even more so than Indy. To bad they don’t have the race during the Wisconsin State Fair because (other than charging fans for admission to that in addition to a race)the food is to die for. Anyway, I’m glad to see that it’s back on the schedule. Have fun, Defender!

  2. Champcar track rentals=bad,earl track rentals=good.

Who/what is ‘earl?’ Is that some sort of attempted northern humor again? How quaint.

  3. Who gives a rats a** whether its a track rental or not? Milwaukee is a true drivers oval. Short, fast, and it takes ba**s and skill to drive well there. Is/was/will be a great race, no matter if its IICS or CART/Champcar. I remember being there and seeing Mansell in Red 5 having a great drive to win there in the 90’s. IICS needs to make sure to put together a good race package; run the Indy Lights early as a support race, and follow it up with the IICS. Give the cheeseheads a good show, and they’ll come out in droves!
