The IndyCar Idiot Repository

This will be the blog thread in which the comment section will contain any/all present and future contributions that:

A)    Crappers Have nothing to do with topics for which they were intended

B)     Are barely literate

C)     Emanate from hate site sub-species mouth breathers

It has become somewhat tedious mining the spam folder to pull something potentially worthwhile from that particular pile of garbage so be sure to bookmark this blog contribution for future use in the event you are inclined toward the behavior of a second grader. I am not one to inhibit free speech even if it is characterized by outright and willful retardation.

You’re welcome.

1. Very well said. Its a sad state indeed that the Human/George clan has left the sport….the worst of both series that only a mother, probably drunk, could love, or fund. Ouch x 10000000000

2. I can tell you right now I have never encountered the issues at any NASCAR forum like I have at places like Trackforum, Smacked, or Crapwagon. They all seem to get it when things are being done correctly by the sanctioning body and don’t wave pom poms. Nor do I have to deal with the insult throwing and kindergarten level discussion one does to be entertained at the last two sites. After dealing with people like BigDaddy, RacingSteward(RacingSewer as I call him), and a whole host of other I left TrackForum. Those three sites and the individuals on them are pretty good indicators as to why IndyCar isn’t doing well.

3. I think the new management is going in the right direction. I can only hope to be as great as they are. Vote for my wife.

4. The EARL blew goats this weekend. Gay Helio blue Gay Gomer under the stands before the race and loaded himself with so much simen that he didn’t even win the farce of a race. Now the only thing we need to figger out is how to fit Tony Kanose’s nose on the Bork Warner Trophie. The .1RL is only a few years from dying and you all know it you fat Gomer Pork Tenderloin eating mother f*$%ing bastards. F*^#ing Toeknee George and his manly looking mother are just sucking down bottle of Vodka and snorting cocaine all on you dime because you are too f*#%ing stupid not to buy tickets/

5. Deleting comments again, huh Defender? Cant take criticism of your beloved League? Yet you FREAK OUT when Condre does it. Too funny.

6. You are still a retarded f&$%wad who dishes it out but cant take ANY criticism.
Are you the long lost Duck Dynasty brother?

7. funny how this thread gets more response than you usual delusional garbage. LOL. Must tell you something about your “Readership”.

8. Editor’s Note – Couple of more typically idiotic comments from one of the obsessed, lurking crappers:
1. the graph you posted sure spells success, earl style!
2. are you saying the earl is still around?…who’d a thunk?

9. You’re a liar. WordPress doesn’t know the difference between mail and spam. The messages are queued and are moved to “Spam” folders only after you censor them. Censored by you you candy-assed liar.

10. I think the point here is that Disciple draws the illiterate children of the cart like flies on a fresh dropped dog deuce.

11. Your side won, Twice! This is what your hiro Tonee George brought not the evil CART you hated so much!

12. “should consider ourselves expendable because we are next in the check-out line of life.”

You are dying?!? Is it Terminal Butthurt? We always said that this would do you in.

That almost makes me sad-ish. Getting close to unhappy-like.

Ah, who am I kidding.

13. they are not financial wizards or the product sucks?

LOL both, obviously. when CART went out of business (twice), it didn’t necessarily end AOWR, kill any tracks, any of that. IMS and the 500? its only dying once.

14. ….and here I was thinking the irl was a failure because people had common sense. Little did I know it was because they were put off by Gaylio’s masculinity.

15. How is your’s feeling? Still bleeding I see. The grate Irl douchebag who is completely clueless about racing outside of the gates of ims.

16. As the general population of the country continues growing vaginas at a startling pace, ‘manly’ testosterone fueled sports …

what the fuck? you only get one comment anymore? IRL STRONG!
lol.

17. Didn’t you once call yourself Alex Hoppes you piece of crap? Since you now appear to want to wax lyrical about peace and love and Indycar, let me say this. You and your ilk are reaping what you have sown. History has proven the Hulman clan to be incompetent managers of the Indy 500. As long as their offspring are in charge, we will continue to see the importance and attendance of the once great Indy 500 reduced until it is no more or it becomes a walmart supercenter. At least then you won’t have to complain about the parking lot of the museum, but remember this one thing, YOU contributed to this by backing the Tony George temper tantrum. You and your ilk are, in part, responsible for this.

I am sure you won’t post this but it has to be said.

18. You continue to offer substance free and truth free responses that destroy whatever credibility you seek. It’s little wonder that your reputation is so poor, even as you’ve greatly embellished your ties to the sport and those run (or ran) it. In other words, you’re the ultimate phony.

1. Bob, why bother? He’s a lying sack of sh#! And always has been.

From his revisionist history with Aton George and his bs contention about why he got tossed off multiple forums there no credibility at all. He’s a waste of skin

19. Are you ever, ever going to offer anything so sun stance or are you simply going to insult everyone who tells the truth about the series and the 500?
Editor’s Note: Are you ever going to A) Grab a mirror and ask yourself the exact same question? B) Confine commentary to the actual topic and shelve the incessant whining?

1. Are you simply unable to offer to anything of substance, or are you afraid to be exposed again as a hypocrite on this stuff? Given your incessant dishonesty concerning ratings and attendance, your embarrassment is understandable.

1. Hey, Bob. Re read my reply to your Feb 22 comment-“You continue to offer substance and truth free…” I’m on YOUR side. Disciple’s a lying self aggrandizer, and he edits and deletes comments that he can’t effectively rebut, so all he does is insult the poster and ignore the SUBSTANCE of the comments. At least TWICE.

20. Do you ever offer a substantive response or do you delete all the posts that disagree with your views? Perhaps the crying children are pictures of you in your youth?

21. So do you ever offer a substantive response to anything?
Editor’s Note: Yes. But only when the commentary relates directly to the blog topic.

22. Are you simply unable to offer to anything of substance, or are you afraid to be exposed again as a hypocrite on this stuff? Given your incessant dishonesty concerning ratings and attendance, your embarrassment is understandable.
Editor’s Note: You really should learn how to comprehend the written word. Facts: The IndyCar Series draws over a million in person annually, hundreds of thousands in May, is one of the highest rated franchises on NBCSN, and still draws good ratings on ESPN on ABC. Both are enough to prevent the series from going out of business. Twice.

23. Oh, and you’re a liar and a coward who offers nothing of substance. It’s why the insiders of the series continually laugh at your embellishments.

24. Skeptical: Defender has a long history of both dodging questions that skewer his agenda as well as twisting the truth to suit his needs. He’s been run off at TF on several occasions, and actual series insiders who know him are, uh, dismissive of not only his dubious connection to the sport but also his alleged ties to people of influence. When informed of this blog, several of them shook their heads and chuckled at the desperation. He’s also been known to greatly embellish his professional background, especially as it relates to sports media. In short, he’s not what he claims. Not even close.
Editor’s Note: Ever think you will be secure or mature enough to comment on actual topics (the purpose of the comment section), or are you just here to make yourself look foolish, desperate and juvenile?

1. Bob: Here’s what really gets me at times with Disciple: He’s quick to “call out” those of us (like yourself) that disagee with his stated positions. And no matter how rational the posts are, he’s quick to try to equate them with the “Childish rantings of a fourth grader”

Yet look at his own replies. He constantly resorts to insults and name calling, and frankly, ones that are repetitive and derivitive, along multiple threads. Geez, at least open a Thesaurus. And when given what appeared to me a great opportunity to use his “intelligence” and reported deep understanding and respect of the sport to elevate the discussion, he sank to a level of childish and frankly somewhat vulgar rebuke of the “non oval” drivers:

November 2013, a comment on Dario’s retirement blog post:

The original comment:

Another IRL short track ace that can’t compete with the cart faction in the feeble iZod-less Indycar Series. Ed should organize a splinter oval series group to take back the speedway before these cart heathens win everything. Oooops, my bad. They already have won everything. Never mind.

Disciples reply:

“Editor’s Note: Despite your classless, borderline illiterate, completely pointless, fourth grade level, failed attempt at a point, you have essentially reinforced one of the primary blog points that sailed completely over your insolent head. But what else is new. Most of the road racers to which you kneel remain pussy-scared where ovals are concerned. That’s why we need more Darios.”

Comment by Goron Liddy — November 17, 2013 @

PUSSY-SCARED? As I had said in a reply to that whole exchange, NO ONE should question the courage of ANYONE that gets into a racecar, and drives it hard at any level of motorsports. Disciple’s every bit as bad with his lack of intelligence and stooping to the fourth grade ( or lower) level as anyone that has ever posted here. But he wants to portray himself as the sterling character exampe of reasoned thought and intelligence. Not. Buying. It.

As Jack Nicholson once said: “Go sell crazy somewhere else. We’re full up here”
Editor’s Note: You folks sure get worked up over the smallest things. It seems depraved, odd and obsessive to me.

25. I’ve requested you do those very things time after time after time. Unfortunately, you’ve consistently chosen to dodge, deny and flat out lie about these matters whenever I’ve presented you with facts. Complaining about someone not sticking to the topics at hand and, further, calling anyone “foolish, desperate and juvenile” is the epitome of hypocrisy on your part. Perhaps you should change your conduct if you don’t wish to be recognized on such an unflattering way.
Editor’s Note: Perhaps you should cultivate even a minimal amount of maturity and focus your future commentary on actual blog topics then see where that leads, Sherlock.

26. I’ve done those very things and you’ve consistently responded with lies in defense of your tired, untruthful and out of touch positions. When you choose to engage honestly, you’ll gain some degree of credibility. Until then, I won’t hesitate to point out your prevarications. They are in abundance each and every time you post. Again, if you don’t like to be recognized for what you are, perhaps you should change your conduct. It’s really that simple.
Editor’s Note: Mother always told me not to engage the crazy people. Time I took her advice.

27. Loop de loops, travis pastrami, hot wheels, yes KISS gene simmons was a gimmick too, girls in cars, concerts after concerts, continual management shifts, a grand prix in may nobody asked for, retread drivers, ride buyers, owners fighting dirty over sponsors, lawsuits galore, empty seats, begging for millions of dollars in tax breaks, horrible TV contract, or we wont make it, and what may be the biggest issue. The clown cars they drive. Ugly, low tech, spec series, crated engines, ONE tire, few ovals left, following the CART CHampCar street festival model that never works, what have i said thats wrong?

Fix the car, stabilize management, have a true value for sponsors, tighten up the schedule….

Nothing will make sense with the first family of fuckups of racing in charge. Thanks Tony – you fixed everrything,

28. Defender loves the attention. He loves to argue. Its all bullshit anyway, so might as well take the Spicoli POV and not expect anything from him other than his nonsensical name calling. He KNOWS the IRL sucks, just like all of us. He just wants to play the contrarian and be the center of attention. This Verizon “sponsorship” is just more spin from the IRL and Hulman Racing. At the end of the year it won’t have made a mouseturds bit of difference. Watch today’s F1 race. THAT was top line open wheel racing. And IRL isnt even in the same solar system.

29. My comments were confined to the actual topic in each and every post that I made. Methinks that’s the problem.

30. Is it fair to conclude that you’re not interested in commentary from others that does not support your views (past or present) of indy car? If so, simply say the word.
Editor’s Note: I am interested only in commentary that is relevant to the topic whether I agree with it or not. I am not interested in off topic whining that only clutters pages.

31. I consistently stayed on topic. It was you who conveniently deviated from the subject matter, all while engaging in childish name calling. If you’re unable to discuss things factually, perhaps you should refrain from the subject at hand.
Editor’s Note: When you post anything that has to do with the topic, it gets posted in the relevant thread. When you simply gripe about perceived treatment in a comment section it is just like spam and gets relocated to the appropriate folder. Why is this so difficult for you to grasp?

32. So is there ever anything that you’ll permit to be posted here that takes issue with indy car in any way, even if it’s on topic (as each of my posts have been)
Editor’s Note: AGAIN, I am interested only in commentary that is relevant to the topic whether I agree with it or not. I am not interested in off topic whining that only clutters pages. Is there any part of this protocol with which you are having comprehension difficulty or are you just going to gripe?

33. I’ve always stayed on topic and have never whined or engaged in childish, immature name calling, so there was no other explanation for your censoring of my remarks (other than they called attention to your repeated lack of truthfulness). Thanks for confirming.
Editor’s Note: None of your ‘contributions’ have been censored. In some cases they have been relocated to the appropriate area when the content veers away from the topic; e.g., whining about treatment of which you mistakenly believe you are victimized. If you would like your remarks to remain in the area in which you are commenting confine your comments to the topic and see how that works out. Very simple.

34. My comments never once strayed from the topic, which is why I questioned the reason for moving them (we both know why you elected to do that). As for feeling “victimized”, I’ve never once claimed that but have rather expressed amazement that you would choose to conduct yourself in such an immature and childish manner by resorting to petty name calling. It’s always been confirmation to anyone who reads your opinions that you engage in such behavior because you’re unable to provide sufficient substance to support your positions.
Editor’s Note: Do you realize that every time you drop one of these turd-like complaints you just reinforce the point I am trying unsuccessfully to make, or are you merely trolling?

35. I realize that you’re incapable of responding in a mature, intelligent way to anyone who takes a view contrary to your own, and that such conduct completely destroys whatever credibility you believe you have.
Editor’s Note: Yep. Trolling.

36. Nope. Just telling the truth. That’s why you’re having so much trouble with it.
Editor’s Note: TROLL (according to Wikipedia’s definition) – In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a forum, chat room, or blog), either accidentally or with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

37. According to Merriam-Webster, synonyms for LIAR include: exaggerator, mythomaniac; calumniator, defamer, libeler, libelist, slanderer; perjurer; distorter, falsifier; equivocator, palterer; gossip, gossiper, talebearer; charlatan, cheat, cheater, counterfeiter, cozener, deceiver, defrauder, dissembler, dissimulator, double-dealer, fraud, hustler, knave, mountebank, operator, pretender.

Ever wonder why you’re referred to so often with one or more of these words?
Editor’s Note: No. But I do recommend professional help for you. You appear to have untreated mental illness. Seek help.

38. I posted a fact and you’ve dodged and deflected, all while offering nothing in the way of support for whatever your position is. You’re welcome to actually contribute something of substance (rather than childish insults that are a regular part of you uncivilized approach), but you’ve simply chosen to not do so. One is left to do conclude (unless and until you demonstrate otherwise) that you simply cannot.

39. More deflection from you because you’re unable to refute facts with anything substantive, and then you quickly move anyone who disagrees with you to the penalty box. On top of that, you claim to know so much about the media and then are revealed as a fraud.

40. Pretty clear that you misinterpreted my posts, which did not represent in any what what you suggested. Sorry that you misunderstood.

41. You forgot one additional attribute: they would have to be stupid enough to pay $1000 for the privelage of watching spec rattletraps called the IRl and calling it big time racing. Only Gomers fall into that category and none of them have that kind of money. Glamping. Good luck when a storm rolls thru.

1. Wow, it must be nice to be the freeloading spouse of a political figure. Free booze, perks, and hookups at the speedway. I guess since you don’t pay you’re not a gomer, huh? You must be able to lick your forehead, cause she obviously didn’t marry you for your looks or vices.

42. How does a guy with his face on the Bork warmer havers understanding than a fat slob with a rhino for a wife? What have you ever driven besides a Honda accord? Why don’t you let the adults talk while you sit at the kiddy table. Remember that running around Indy in a Bus does not qualify you to comment vs a former winner or the event. Unless it is vs a Lazier.

43. Nice start. Lol. And no i didnt tune ina and no i didnt go. Clowncars cant even get out of each others way. And you wonder why no one watches/ buys tickets/ cares….

Tony is, i am sure, so proud of what he has done. Fail x 100000000000. But you go ahead and enjoy, mkay? Lol again.

44. Whoa. Deleting comments again. It pretty much juat you and me these days, be careful or its gonna be you talking to yourself. Again. 🙂

45. What happened to the IRL. Didn’t it start out as all ovals. Didn’t it also fail when it added the first or second road course to the schedule.

Didn’t overall attendance decline year over year with the IRL? Has not Indy attendance declined since 1995 also year over year? It did and road courses are not to blame no matter how much you want to believe.

The product in 1996 was crap and that continues through to today. In 1994 Indy was sold out the day after the race. When you see aluminum at Indy this year, you should thank Tony for fixing it.

46. Actual race fan? Oh, I see, you get the right to complain because YOU pay for tickets to this garbage so no one else can is that right? You need to check into a codependency clinic. It’s evolution fella, it’s what you wanted all along. Eat your new generation tenderloin and be quiet. It’s exactly how it was predicted to go down with the place in shambles and the Hulman family screwing it all up. Wheres your support now, huh?

47. In your expert opinion does Sam Schmidt miss walking or jerking off more?

48. 2500 for not pole or is it pole day? Pacers in playoffs today, it will be worse. More employees than placfans. Lol.

49. Your comment…”Anything anyone spouts on the internet is taken, at least by me, with a grain of salt.” Hmm, you have a little blog on the internet you use to get your brand of insane spouts out to the masses. Just saying….

By the way, I was at TMS this past weekend, and I can tell you that there was basically 30,000, tops, and that is being generous. No line-ups pretty anywhere, for anything. Refuting that just shows how much more ignorant and delusional you have become.
Editor’s Note: Wow. Must have been a long voyage all the way from Canada. LOL. Look. Grow up. Think like an adult. This kind of nonsense you are trying to pull is childish and retarded.

50. I would also install bathhouses and gay dance clubs in the infield in order to be compliant with Federal anti discrimination guidelines.

51. Texas capacity is not 191,000, as you continue to laughingly suggest. It is “officially” just over 180,000, which includes an estimate of 50,000 for the infield. Actually seating is roughly 125,000, of which just over 100,000 are on the front stretch. For the Indycar race, no more than 25% of the front straight seats were available! leaving a maximum of roughly 28,000 if every seat was filled. Clearly, about half were, netting a mid teens attendance in that seating area. Adding another 5,000 in the balance of the entire facility generously brings the total to roughly 20,000. Sorry, but your figures simply do not stand up to any intelligent scrutiny. Furthermore, you’ve significantly inflated attendance at each of the other tracks, as anyone who has either watched or attended can readily attest. Again, that’s simply a fact, and no amount of spin from you changes that. Ditto for your fact free television ratings estimates, which do not hold up. Sorry, but your repitition of inaccuracies doesn’t suddenly make them truthful. And since you’ve already acknowledged that you cannot provide answers to the questions you’ve posed, there’s really no point in answering them for you. Please try to use facts if you wish to legitimize your arguments and demonstrate credibility. Thanks.

52. Assumed once you were conclusively proven wrong you would banish the comments to avoid further embarrassment. You’re a complete fraud.

53. Hey DOUG,

Do me a favor: after you take your head out of Disciples ass, make an attempt, ANY ATTEMPT, to address the issues I’ve discussed.

Otherwise, STFU.

54. You often call people you disagree with “retarded”. Or have you conveniently forgotten that?

So on top of your delusions, you’re an outright liar as well. Impressive.

55. Did the lady at the bar call the cops and / or get a restraining order to protect herself from the lecherous old bean bag leering at her through his cataract glasses?

56. You’re on a roll. Are you on a mission to delete or move everything that exposes your lies and bullshit? If so, I can see that you’re in good form.

You’re a liar. You regularly call people retarded, anytime that they post something that challenges your cherished belief system regarding Indycar. And now you equivocate; “I didn’t call anyone retarded” as if that absolves you from your past use of that term. And if you have a bone to pick with someone else regarding soccer comparisons then take it up with them. I HAVE NOT MADE THAT COMPARISON, so dust off your comprehension skills and try to keep up.

I’m sure this one’s getting moved as well but idiots like you need to be responded to from time to time. Although to be honest, this is starting to feel like I’m in a gunfight with an unarmed man, ( and no, YOU don’t have the gun)
Editor’s Note: Memo to repetitive children posting on the Internet: I do not delete things. I relocate them to appropriate sections. If you want to get published, write something that has to do with the topic. Simple. And also try to make sense.

1. The post addressed issues YOU raised in responses to earlier posts on this thread. So, you’re lying again, asswipe. Surprise, surprise. And not that I’d expect any better from you, but I wrote “delete OR move”, which anyone with a shred of comprehension could understand.

I understand DOUG may be willing to swallow another load from you, but the rest of us can see right through your crap. Enjoy yourself, jackass, as you lie to yourself, and anyone who’ll listen, about your scary understanding of how (you think) the world works.

57. All of which makes one wonder why you would choose to use that “frivolous and amusing” measure to make your point. No one capable of knowledgeable (or “knowledgable”, as both spellings are shown in various dictionaries, with the latter included in the Apple Spell Check program) thought would utilize such meaningless data. Hopefully, that helps your learning process.

1. If your comments in any way, shape, or form show that Disciple is: A) Full of shit B) Lying through his teeth, C) stooping to lowest common denominator name calling when caught in one of his numerous fantasy world prognostications, or D) All of the above, then your post gets moved. Pretty simple, really.

Did I miss any other reasons, D-boy?

58. Why would you ever, ever think you could advise anyone in regard to being taken seriously? And, trust me, you’re more than “retarded enough”.

59. Every time I tell the truth about you, you banish the comments. Funny how that happens. And no one uses 12+ overnights. If you were a media person, you’d know that.

60. “Editor’s Note: If you want to get published, write something that has to do with the topic. Simple. And also try to make sense.”

Can you explain why you consistently fail to heed your own advice?

61. So, if “2013 wasn’t the end”, was Tony incompetent or dishonest? Hint to editor: There is no third option. Additional point: Colons are always followed by two spaces, not one. Please work on your grammar of you want to establish any credibility as an “editor”.

1. It does my heart good to know that there are at least some of us that recognize what a total fraud & lying sack of shit Disciple is.

Bob, I salute you.

62. As I suspected, whenever you’re demonstrably proven wrong you quickly move those posts away from here. It proves conclusively that you’re looking for meek followers, not reasoned debate.

63. “It helps when you have major networks in your pocket. NBC, for example. They would deny this, but having spent millions on rights for the World Cup I sense there is pressure to get ROI, and that pressure drives other departments, like News, to fawn over it.”

Lets get this straight: YOU make the example that NBC spent millions on rights for the World Cup (which they most assuredly DID NOT). Your words. In quotes, from YOUR OWN REPLY.

Then you spout off to Bob Chinn about reading comprhension. Holy illiterate gomer Batman! YOU linked NBC to World Cup rights. You didn’t link ANY other network. God, you are an idiot of the first order. A lying, self important tool, that leers at young women in bars. No wonder you’re fond of the Hulman George clan, Tony in particular. Peas in a pod.

Its not OUR comprehension that’s a problem. We understand you all to well, you worthless piece of trailer trash.

64. Probably better to just admit you messed up, rather than concocting an elaborate and easily dismissed excuse for your error.

65. A supposed media expert didn’t even know who holds the rights to the World Cup. As the Trackforum people discovered, you’re a complete and total fraud. NBC? Incredible that you could be so uninformed.
Editor’s Note: Hopefully at some point an adult family member or friend might perform an intervention with you and get you back into an education track with emphasis on basic literacy skills. In the meantime, a helpful remedial solution is http://www.sylvanlearning.com/. Please take advantage of available resources.

66. So I take it you’re not Ok with someone starting a Web site/blog page that castigates a sport’s (or series) management?

That’s odd, because more and more frequently that’s what this site and it’s “author” does.

And here you are, posting comments about it.

Gee, methinks you’re either A:confused, or B:not capable of fully understanding what you are reading.

Oh, by the way, it’s the “author” of this site that frequently refers to the readers and posters as retarded, not the other way around.

RIF

67. I stopped voting for your wife once I found out who you are and the things you post on the internet about Indiana citizens.

68. hey ass wipe, my comments regarding your blog and related comments directed at other posters regarding this topic were directly on point and address the issues that you yourself brought up.

I understand that reading comprehension and rational thought are difficult skills for you to master but this goes beyond even your normal levels of stupidity.

maybe you should just try being honest in the future. If you’re going to move/delete posts you don’t agree at least be honest. Tell us that what you want is to have an army of little like minded lemmings that agree with you. Every one else will comprehend your actions, and can make the decision to partake of your brilliance, or not. at least we understand you for what you are; an inbred gomer that knows nothing of the world outside of the Indy 500, no matter how much you try to tell us how accomplished you are.

You’re a fraud. A total, unrepentant fraud.
Editor’s Note: Here are some helpful hints to help with your seemingly futile attempts to interact in an adult world…1) When you begin missives with ‘hey ass wipe’ and then rant on using such quaint words as ‘lemming’ and ‘inbred gomer’ it immediately dismisses whatever credibility you may foolishly believe you have. 2) Commentary in which I am interested is that which deals with the actual topic, not barely literate attacks against the author, complete with name calling and taunting, in comment replies. In addition to being childish and immature it pollutes an otherwise worthwhile space. So in short, grow up and come back when you figure out what it means to act like a human being.

1. Interesting. Taking offense at “Asswipe” but apparently you don’t have any problems with you yourself insulting others, referring to people as “retarded”, in a pejorative manner.

Not only are you a fraud, but a hypocrite as well. Bravo!
Editor’s Note: Only the willfully retarded, however. And it’s usually obvious to thinking people.

1. So, with your reasoning, if someone chooses to be openly, unabashedly, willfully gay, it’s perfectly fine in your world to call them a “faggot”

There’s a nice little window into your thought process ( if you actually HAVE a thought process) ol’ D-boy.

What other character defects do you admit to: perhaps you kick kittens for fun?

You’re pathetic.
Editor’s Note: You are mentally ill. Seek professional help.

69. The take over is almost.complete. Great job CART! The only thing that gives this Indy Car series any legitimacy is the fact that they are bringing back everything that was CART and dispensing with the IRL baggage. Adding Bob Varsha and Paul Tracy to the tv broadcast is a stroke of genius. Showing CART footage during the Pocono race was awesome. IRL is trash. Book it. IRL Defender, haha, too funny!

70. Sorry, but, as usual, virtually none of your contentions hold up under scrutiny (with the possible exception of your criticism of the Hulman George family-there, except for holding the real culprit in that family accountable, you do assign blame, at least for the condition of your beloved speedway).

Ownership groups kill most series? I’m sorry, but pretty much ALL of the major sports (NFL, MLB, NHL & NBA, for starters) are run by the OWNERS. They may hire a commisioner, executive director, etc, but in the end the owners control the sport/league. And in the cases of those aforementioned sports, ALL of them are far more financially successful than Indycar, and receive far more media attention.

As far as attendance goes, your assertions are just plain wrong:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2013/10/03/the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly-of-mlbs-2013-attendance/

Note that the fluctuation in average or total attendance is on the order +/- 3%. And also note that baseball (a sport whose attendance you disparaged in a piece a few months ago) has seen its top ten attendance figures occur in the last decade, during a time where you claimed the all sports, MLB included, had seen significant drops in attendance. All while opening new ballparks, that in many cases, have seen significant reductions in seating capacity, yet are drawing more fans in total.

As I stated:

“Nature abhors a vacuum. These families have found other interests and they’re not coming back anytime soon. Attendance is stable at BEST, and trending the wrong way at most venues. And that is NOT the trend of most of the major league sports in the USA. Discounting strike years, attendance at NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA has been remarkably stable.”

Your reply:

“Editor’s Note: NFL excepted, the numbers simply do not back you up. IndyCar remains in the same relative place in the pecking order as it mostly always has been.”

Demonstrably wrong on your part. As usual.
Editor’s Note: Moved because not one word has to do with the blog topic. I may address your quaint off topic protestations once I return from Iowa next week.

1. Funny how that works with you. I addressed specific things that YOU wrote about in replies from readers to your blog topic. Issues that YOU raised in context of your replies to the blog topic. Yet my post gets moved because it (in your opinion) doesn’t pertain to the blog topic.

So if my comments don’t address your blog topic, then how the heck do you explain your own entries?

Oh, I forgot; honesty and integrity are foreign concepts for you. You moved it solely because it exposes your bullshit.

And don’t hurry to bless us with your scary ramblings regarding the issues I’ve raised; if they’re anything like the rest of your unmitigated b.s. it won’t be anything that either:imparts useful knowledge, or can be backed up by independent references for the nonsense you peddle.

Be proud of yourself; after ( allegedly) following the sport for nearly 50 years you’ve managed to not learn anything of value, nor have you learned to be honest about anything. Good job!
Editor’s Note: Simple solution…if the topic is about Pocono, stick to Pocono. Leave all the disdain for the author in the second grade where it appears to have originated.

71. Re: your response(s) on driver/field quality.

So, first you defend the level and talent of the current Indycar field with this:

“Editor’s Note: And yet the actual participants in the sport seem to feel the level of competition and depth of the field has never been higher. But what do they know? LOL.”

Then you “double down” on that sentiment with this:

“Editor’s Note: Several non-driver content experts have also spoken highly of the diverse and deep field they feel is participating today.”

And finally-

Bob Chin writes:

“Parity is a function of spec racing, not a level of driver skill.”

Your reply:

“Editor’s Note: The majority of actual drivers in the series today disagree with that assessment.”

And then, when Bob Chinn points out the obvious:

“So the majority of today’s drivers don’t want to acknowledge that they’re not as good as their more daring and skilled predecessors? Shocking!”

You then try to cover your ass with:

“Editor’s Note: According to them they are the best the sport has ever seen. They are good, but not really any better or worse than any other generation as a whole. As an actual fan I have seen many of the legends, including all four of AJ Foyt’s 500 wins.”

So Al Unser doesn’t matter, but Foyt does? Hmm…

I tell ya, I’m glad you write this stuff down. It would be difficult to figure out where the lies start with you, but for the convenience that you afford us by putting it all online.

Wait, it really isn’t that hard. Just start at the first word of each of your posts. Everything after that is a lie. Sorry, I didn’t realize how easy it was!

72. No, those of us who are true fans have simply wanted better for the sport. I’ll leave the steady diet of childish insults to you.

73. Ah, once again moving posts and replies that offer concrete proof of how utterly incorrect you are. You write total b.s. and drivel IN THIS THREAD regarding attendance of All sports, so I provide links with hard evidence to disprove your assertions. What do you do? You move the posts, tagging them as “off topic”. What utter steaming bullshit. You’re a fraud, a coward, and a moron. Why don’t you just come out and say it, Asswipe. “Don’t post here unless you agree with me” At least let everyone in on the joke that this forum is. You’re as truthful as a corrupt politician. And knowing the wife you’re married to, I guess that shouldn’t be a surprise.
Editor’s Note: I don’t have time to screw around with this nonsense for a few days. I am currently dodging rain in Iowa, where hopefully we get to enjoy a race later tonight. Patience, grasshopper.

74. A typicall, cowardly response from you. Sad that you’re unable to support your position with actual facts. Sad, but never surprising.

75. More banishment because you’re unable to discuss things on a factual basis, resulting instead to childish insults that are your only weapon against those who call you on your massive hyperbole?
Editor’s Note: No banishment here. Just relocation to the more appropriate comment section.

76. No time? Which takes more time, you lying sack of shit: leaving my FACTUALLY ACCURATE rebuttal of your false statements right where they were, or spending the time it took to read and decide to move them, because they exposed your lies?

Anyone with a brain knows that answer; you moved them because you don’t want your precious little fabrications exposed.

A fraud, a coward and a liar; all apt descriptions of you.

Editor’s Note: You are doing a fine job of pigeonholing isolated non-neutral pieces of data to support your quaint hypothesis. In actual reality television ratings in general have dropped 60% since 2002. And baseball? In ten years baseball on Fox and ESPN has lost about a million per game. Attendance is down this year over last by almost a million. You can pigeonhole all you want but in terms of general trends try reputable neutral sources; e.g., Sports Business Journal, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, etc. I know you might have to pay but I’ll take coherence over hysteria any day of the week.

1. I posted a reply to your easily dis-proven claims, but I don’t see it here now. In any case, I’ll touch on something else that you just brought up, to show how easy it is to punch holes in your little mis-informed screeds.

Quote (from you): “Attendance is down this year over last by almost a million.”

Ok, lets see if we can figure this out together, shall we? The baseball season is roughly half over, and (not counting for games lost to weather issues, that have yet to be played/rescheduled) you report that attendance is down by ~ 1 million.

We’ll extrapolate that out over the whole season; ~ 2 million down for the entire MLB season. Ok, lets do some basic calculations, shall we? Last year attendance was ~ 74 MILLION. 2 MILLION is what percentage of that amount? I’ll save you that trouble of asking your mom for help there kid. It’s ~ 2.7 %. Which just happens to be in the typical range of fluctuation year over year. Imagine that.

Now, How much did Pocono lose this year? Texas? Iowa? Detroit? How about year over year for the last 5 years? A bit more than 2 % sweetie. Nice try. Thanks for playing.

Come back when you learn to add. Or think rationally.

80. Learn to read, genius. My post directly dealt with physical attendance at events, not television ratings. Your contention regarding an attendance drop this year is suspicious, particularly since, like all of your assertions, you provide NO hard evidence to support your claim.

Your claim that attendance has dropped significantly was easily proven wrong through multiple sources. With the proliferation of cable and satellite regional and national networks television ratings for everything have dropped off, no one is debating that. What is relevant to the extent that ratings have fallen for Indy car as opposed to other sports but I was NOT here to discuss that.

But if you want to do the math, go ahead: which is greater-the 60% ( your figure) that baseball has allegedly dropped, or the typical Indycar rating, which back before the creation of the IRL, regularly got 2.0-2.5 (for non Indy 500 broadcasts) and now is lucky to get a 0.2. We’ll wait for your answer.

I posted links to what I thought you could possibly open without having to pay for them, like I do and I am NOT going to put them up on your website and violate the terms of service agreements, just as you will not for Nielsen ratings.

In any case, are those sources any more or less neutral then your reported figures from the promoters of the events that you attend? Nope.

Sorry, sweetie, but as always none of your claims hold up under even the most moderate scrutiny. You can peddle your b.s. here all you want; it’s your nickel, so to speak. And to paraphrase ( more or less) : “You’re entitled to your own opinion. You’re NOT entitled to your own FACTS.”

81. Ok. Nice list. Convenient that you failed to note which of those tracks “died” or went away after the IRL came to town.

We’ll do it for you:

Las Vegas, Phoenix, Pikes Peak, Walt Disney World, Nazareth (no problem with attendance BEFORE the split, and nothing wrong with the facility while the IRL was there-it closed after the last IRL event. Seems to be a habit.) Louden (after one attempt to re-start event. Can’t blame that all on the weather) Miami, Charlotte, MIS, Baltimore, Dover, Gateway, Chicagoland, Motegi (and with the track owner-HONDA-supplying engines to the series exclusively, for years. When one of 2 engine providers doesn’t want you on their home track, that’s saying a lot for the product), Kansas, Richmond (ah, yes, those mean NASCAR poachers-if the series was worth having there, the track would be able to get another sponsor), Brazil, Surfers Paradise, Watkins Glen, Edmonton., NOLA.

And of those tracks, how many bailed AFTER the buyout/merger, when the IRL was the only (open wheel) game in town? at LEAST 10. In just 6 years. 11 if you count Detroit, which bailed and came back with poorly attended double headers, where the track patches peeled off the surface-great venue there. And if you count ALL of the tracks that bailed from the IRL before the merger the list is bigger. But we’ll take some pity on you tonight.

And let’s not count (to be fair) all of those “temporary” small ovals that Jack Long and Tony George talked about building around the country. The only one of those ever to see the light of day was Walt Disney World, which vanished like all of the promises for the coming success of the IRL. Although hosting the Richard Petty Driving Experience allows Disney to recoup the investment that the IRL never paid off.

Sponsors: Northern Lights, Pep Boys, Izod, Bombardier, Marlboro, Brazil Ethanol, to name a few-most of whom terminated their sponsorship deals early.

Cars (since that seems to count for you) and engines :Panoz/G-Force, Falcon (LOL), Riley & Scott/Crawford, Oldsmobile, Infiniti, Toyota, Menard, Cosworth (the “Chevworth” replacement for the Chevrolet engine).

We could do this forever, dipshit. At least it took ~ 25 years for the CART series to fail. The current IRL/Indycar series has yet to be successful ANY year, and will exist for as long as the family keeps generating whatever funding it needs to limp along. All while losing tracks and attendance, and failing to generate any significant “buzz” outside of the 500. (Which, lets face it, is what it’s all about anyway-the thought of a series standing alone apart from the IMS was something that the family couldn’t abide. They just needed the coke addict “front man” to spend the other side into oblivion.

Oh, just a quick quest-I’m curious. Does that helmet you’re wearing in your “mug shot” serve to keep intelligent thought out, or is it to keep the stupid in? (’cause if it’s the latter, I’m afraid it’s not working!)

82. The Indycar series is like the kid who doesn’t do his homework, and gets caught by his teacher-”the dog ate it!” It was here a minute ago!” You get the point (well, maybe. I’ll draw you a picture later, if I have to)

With you and Indycar it’s-”ooooh, the weather was bad” “it was too hot” “It was too cold” “someone stole my sponsor” “That’s a bad date” “It was Fourth of July” “SMI owns that track, and they don’t like us” wah, wah, waaaaah. Like that kid with his homework, it’s EVERYONE ELSE”S FAULT! When do you, and the rest of the perceptually challenged dolts that blindly support this thing finally wake up and smell the coffee? To paraphrase James Carville-”IT”S THE PRODUCT, STUPID!”

Oh, and all of the rest of us should take YOUR attendance figures as gospel? And we know who YOU talked to? (Not that you EVER disclose a source, or offer any corroboration for your attendance claims. Frankly, I’ll take the word of reporters that actually get PAID to write about this rolling clusterf*&k than the word of a self annointed “insider” with a blog.

Let’s see, (just as an example of your stellar investigative skills)Texas was reported (by you) with the following attendance-first ~65K (according to the track owner/promotoer, or, as you put it “track personnel”-hardly an unbiased source, and completely unattributed to ANY SPECIFIC track official-how convenient for you) Then, in a reply to a comment, you stated that actual attendance was ~ 47K. Later in that same thread, a poster reported that closed sections of the grandstand left an approximate seating capacity of ~ 28K (seems low, even for Indycar), and that was NOT full. You responded by calling that assertion “full on nutty”. Yet, that guesstimate was supported by PAID reporters that follow the series.

Now, was that final number (< 28K) accurate? Probably not (quite possibly lower), but it's supported by the exact same "proof" as any of your claims. But if you think ~ 20-25K in a facility that holds well in excess of 110K is a "good crowd" then that explains a lot for the rest of us. Also note that you made the same type of observations regarding POCONO, with the same, unverified, unattributed source for you claims, when PAID reporters (who have been involved with all of the forms of this series, and as part of real organizations, not just a cheesy blog) reported that actual attendance was far less than your number.

And that brings us to a very relevant observation-I find it curious that, in all of your reported "facts" regarding IMS and Indycar, there is never a hard link to ANY other source for your claims. No quotes directly made to you that can be directly attributed to a series official, the Hulmans, Mark Miles, Derrick Walker, etc. No photographs of you with any of the people that you attribute your "facts" to. None. Verrrry interesting.

83. Are you saying that either Honda, Marlboro or other companies didn’t paper the house at any event? All you need to do is find the old Racer issue where they Photoshopped a crowd into the grandstand at Nazareth to see all of the red hats there.

But, good luck finding out about how many freebies were given out. You couldn’t get that info with a good crowd. Think anyone is going to admit that number when the total number in attendance was so embarrassing?

84. Oh, and where, prey tell is that “factual data” you’re talking about?

We’ve yet to see ANY hard evidence to support your claims. EVER.

85. Wasn’t it YOU that claimed Miller is a hack EX – CART employee?

But now he’s relevant?

Jeesh, make up your mind.

86. We’ll just have to keep moving these back to where they belong; direct responses to issues YOU raise in these posts and comments. Not the off topic status you claim them to be.

My original response:

“Ok. Nice list. Convenient that you failed to note which of those tracks “died” or went away after the IRL came to town.

87. (Repeat of previous lengthy diatribe/off topic commentary above TWENTY-TWO additional times. Literally. We’re dealing with a mentally ill entity here.)

88. Want me to stop? Just answer my questions and address the points that I, Bob Chinn, and others have raised.

Include some HARD evidence or links to support your positions. I’m betting that you can’t.

Otherwise just keep moving the posts and showing the rest of us what a swiveling little coward you are.

89. COWARD. Come’on. Man up. Show us some of that scary intellect. Address my points, or are to to scared to have an honest discussion?

90. I spend PLENTY of my own cash attending racing and other events throughout the year D-boy, including the entry fees for NASA lapping and track days, and karting at OVRP. Unlike you who claims to get “comped” as a media member (LOL). Y I just won’t spend it on what has become an inferior product. Because And be grateful that I, and a few others are obsessive, particularly about getting out the truth. Otherwise you’d have no one reading or commenting on your latest round of incoherence.

91. What are you so afraid of? That your delusional ramblings can’t pass the smell test?

Grow a set, leave the comment up and let’s see who agrees with you or me. I’m betting that you won’t because you are a COWARD.

92. Dave is Winfield just so everyone knows. He thinks his vision to hate anything CART is the way to go. No wonder you have used him in your story. He fits your own hate anything CART agenda. Your side won. What they won I haven’t figured out but it most certain lye is not a viable fanbase.
Editor’s Note: This one was borderline. Perhaps if you learn to speak English it will make it next time.

93. You “guess” its a matter of “personal prejudice”? Thats funny. You are entitled to your own opinion, you are not entitled to your own “facts”. Ratings are miserable, support series non existant, double headers on foreign street circuits, ride buyers, but yeah, you still got Indy. D, you really should have been a political speechwriter. You spin with the best of them. Enjoy the race, I will be watching to see if Rosberg can hold off a charging Hamilton who has to start from 15 th. and don’t count out Bottas our Kvyat or Riccardo.
Editor’s Note: Have fun with that. Personally I’ll watch but it bores me, the cars are ugly and now they sound like crap. I have no affinity for any driver. They are all the same to me. But I have never once been to any F-1 centric website comment section to repeatedly inform the fans that I believe what they like sucks. Maturity and all.

1. You may be “mature” as it relates to your actual age. But it’s the “all” part that you fail miserably at.

Looking forward to 17 through 24…

94. Why? Because you cant handle the truth? More win brought to you by Defender and the people who take down aluminum stands. Lolz.

95. I’ll take your continued inability to offer a substantive rebuttal as clear evidence of the accuracy of my comments. There’s no need to scream about it. It is evident to anyone who understands the sport.

96. Wow! I’ll admit to goofing on you big time, and implying that you’ve got serious personal issues, but even I didn’t ascribe all those behaviors to you. Is there something you’re trying to tell us big boy? As for “wittle” did you ever hear of Elmer Fudd? I don’t think “wabbit” is a real world either doofus. So not only are you full of yourself, you’ve got no understanding of literary license either. I guess, since you’re so quick to tag everyone as a “fourth grader” that you probably spent the best 6 years of your life there. Toodles! 🙂

97. Let’s not go there dipshit. If you want to get on me for misspelling Arie Luyendyks name well good for you.

Meanwhile let’s count your grammatical and syntax errors, as well as the insulting use of the word ” retarded” for everyone that doesn’t agree with you.

And noted was your usual deflection; I didn’t bring up Jack Miller or Racing Gardner ( and really what’s the point? They’re long standing punchlines to the joke that the early IRL lineup consisted of.

What was really apparent in your reply was the absolute ignorance of the points I raised. Not surprising. I see from a later blog entry that you’ve “taken to task” Indycar officials for the Toronto debacles. LOL.As if you’d do anything about it, such as refuse to hand over any more of your hard earned (now there’s a stretch) cash until the rolling epitome of incompetence either dies a natural death or gets some real professional management. Good luck with that.

Editor’s Note: Same comment repeated.

1. come on older fan, speaking of incompetence and dying, tell us about the circus series that no longer exists. i have every one of those races on dvd. where do we start? lol

1. Yo, circus boy: If the old CART series had a nearly unlimited hoard of cash to dip into they’d probabaly still be here. And without the Hulman family businesses such as clabber girl the IRL would be extinct as well (Oh, wait it is-I forgot. What really exists is CART Lite). You know, kind of like Miller Lite (and I’m paraphrasing here) with “half the fans, “half the ratings, ” and none of the interest. ” I’m glad that you’ve got all the old CART races on DVD; this way you can watch ’em and see what is was like when A: You had technical diversity, B: MORE ovals than you have now, and C: Sold out venues, including Indy. There. You feel better now? Good. Glad I could help.
Editor’s Note: So are you saying that had cart not gone out of business, twice, after the Tony Tantrum that everything would be as great as you though t it was? If so you really are clinically insane and/or willfully mentally retarded.

98. Why are you censoring so much! Are you afraid of a backlash or something? I think it is because you have been called out on so many issues and don’t have any clue how to respond other than to use childish insults. I know you will delete this and call me some name but you at least have to read this once. We all know you are just a putz and general laughingstock who has his head soooooo far up the Hulman family ass and will never understand the real business of racing. You only care for a piece of ground in the hood. Funny how you use monkeys to reference the area. It clearly shows how racist you really are. No wonder no one likes you and you keep getting banned from racing forums. You can hide all you want here but we will always be here too reminding you just how much of a douchebag you really really are! Bwahahahahaha!

1. Willy-you answered your own questions. Dead nuts on with all of it, sir. Believe or not I don’t have an issue with Defenders’ “fandom” The problem is, frankly, he’s a liar. It’s beyond simple to disprove his contentions, and as soon as you do-“poof” your post is gone. (at least he can’t do that at IBJ.com blog pages-that must drive him nuts. No hiding from the truth there). Funny thing is, he’d be better off, and the blog would be more interesting, if he’d leave the opposing opinions up to generate some interest in the topics, but I guess he just can’t deal with not being the smartest guy in the room, even when he owns the room. Oh, well. At least we get to brush up on the compassion skills that we need when we deal with such a “special” person.
Editor’s Note: Here’s the thing…as an adult I tend to leave commentary in comment sections that is relevant to the actual topic. In Schoettle’s blog, there are two intelligent, on target pieces of commentary directly related to the content of the blog. Almost everything else is the wildly divergent, mostly illiterate meandering of retarded beings acting like four year olds. I do not want to be associated with that type of mental illness. The old adage ‘never argue with an idiot because they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience’ holds true. It is a real shame such obsessed folks refuse to mature. You, and they, give the sport a black eye. Grow up.

2. Interesting that you, a person that calls everyone that disagrees with you either “retarded” or a fourth grader would admonish others to “grow up”.

As they say, “after you, sir.”
It is hardly a matter of disagreeing with me. It is a matter of you and others acting like retarded fourth graders who lack the maturity to function as walking upright humans in society. The planet would be far better off with your kind not on it.

99. Geez, this sentence really flows:

“Indycar cannot really afford to drop ANY television turds ANY more”

What’s next, a double negative?

And you’ve got an issue with misspellings?

100. Herman,

And who is going to care when you assume room temperature?

That’s right – NO ONE!

Eff off, genius.

101. “Why not blog about something that is important or relevant and stop crying over spilled milk your guys poured onto the floor?”

You need to follow this advice in every way possible. At the very least, it would help you establish even a modicum of credibility.

102. As usual, you’re incapable of dealing with the truth of how things were and are today. Your loss.
Editor’s Note: Here’s a helpful hint for the tact challenged: If you stick to the actual topic, which is not about the author, you stand a better chance of getting your contributions posted within the intended topic. Is there any portion of that etiquette with which you are having difficulty processing? If so, you are likely to end up here a lot. If not, good luck.

103. You bitterly devote nine paragraphs to a subject that you claim should be ancient history and then censor any commentary that takes issue with you view. Why have a blog if you don’t want to elicit informed opinions?
Editor’s Note: Here’s a helpful hint for the tact challenged: If you stick to the actual topic, which is not about the author, you stand a better chance of getting your contributions posted within the intended topic. Is there any portion of that etiquette with which you are having difficulty processing? If so, you are likely to end up here a lot. If not, good luck.

1. This has nothing to do with sticking to the topic. You’re simply intolerant of those of us who consistently prove you wrong. It makes you utterly foolish and that embarrasses you, so you move the comments so others can’t see them.
Editor’s Note: You are incapable of reading, comprehending or any other sort of even primitive social interaction. If comments address the topic, they stay. If comments consist of childish name calling, they move. In either case potentially interested and/or masochistic readers know exactly where to find them. My suggestion: Grow up and address topics, or run along, stick to the second grade and allow the adults to converse intelligently.

1. You banish comments because you’re consistently proven wrong, then you engage in childish name calling. It’s easy to see why the Trackforum people ran you off (especially after you blatantly misrepresented yourself and were exposed as a liar). Had to be embarrassing, even for you.

104. We are laughing at you. Your reply just shows how little you actually know about what really went on. Your hero Tony saved the speedway just for you. There is a monkey waiting for you as a gift if you know what I mean. He will be in the coke lot waiting. You will know when you see him. Writing a shitty reply to a great story is typical of a piece of shit such as yourself.

105. After all these years, you are still looking for a fight with those so-called CART enthusiasts. Perhaps it is time for you to move on.

106. Typical . You are once again spinning like a top. Your side won Disciple and this is what you are left with. Perfect for your very simple mind.

107. Clearly, there are more than a few blank side pods. Suggesting otherwise is foolish. The recently announced merger of two teams isn’t occurring because both are flush with financial support, and the recently announced departure of another sponsor may ultimately be responsible for the demise of two other teams. When I use the word “dearth”, these are obvious examples.

As I said, MA and DH expressed disappointment with the crowd, and it clearly was not good.

Again, I accept that you cannot offer any data to support your assertion, which is why it lacks credibility. Like a math teacher who provides full credit only if one shows his/her work, there is a standard here that you simply have not met.

Finally, there is no compelling reason whatsoever for the WSF to include indy car in their festivities. None. I certainly understand why indy car would want to run then, but that option obviously isn’t available to them.

Thanks for chatting.

108. Ah, your usual mildly insulting responses, written in the style of a 12 year old with a head injury. I’ve got no problems with my reading and comprehension; the issue is that your contentions don’t hold up under scrutiny. Name any major league sport that existed 20 years ago that now has half the attendance it used to. You can’t, because your contentions aren’t true. Most other sports have been remarkably stable, even in a world that is fundamentally different than it was 20 years ago.
Editor’s Note: Assume you are referring to the major stick n’ balls; e.g., MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL. That is what is referred to as pigeonholing to try and fit your argument. Besides, MLB a is down significantly. NBA is also down in terms of ratings and attendance. You are also assuming IndyCar was at least one time ‘major.’ It wasn’t. Oh it was in the deluded fantasy world of the disenfranchised cart enthusiast but that is never reflective of actual reality. NASCAR was considered major for a while, but their ratings and attendance are dramatically down too. So is attendance and box office for movies. Golf. Concerts. It has more to do with this being 2014 and not 1991 more than anything.

The attendance numbers for open wheel used to be tabulated by Goodyear, and were generally accepted by the vast majority of fans and media as being pretty accurate. At their peak, attendance for open wheel events exceeded 2 million per year; now, as reported by YOU it is just over 1 million. Even for someone with the obvious cognitive difficulties you seem to possess, that works out to about half. And none of the major sports in the USA have seen in excess of 80 % of its television ratings disappear, despite the changed landscape you cite when making excuses for the current ICS.
Editor’s Note: So now it’s MAJOR sports, huh? LOL. If you want viable comparisons you need to consider apples to apples.

But as to your original pie in the sky point, who would ever think to aquire this series? No drivers with any national presence, miniscule ratings, televised events with massive amounts of empty seats and a financial plan that even track owners (Watkins Glen and Road America, ISC and SMI) can’t make work. Maybe if you hit the lottery you could buy it. Then we could all see those amazing media skills you’ve honed for years as you catapult this series to the lofty heights it so deserves. LOL
Editor’s Note: Actually, as an actual fan I do what I can by attending the events. All but three this season. Headed to SoCal on Wednesday. As an added bonus they may announce the expanded 2015 schedule there. So I’ll have at least one more year to enjoy it while you children continue to steam in your own juices chicken littleing your away through life incoherently.

109. You know, you make this so easy that it becomes boring. I’ve posted links to sites that contradict virtually each of your idiotic assertions regarding attendance and ratings of sports in this country. You relocate them because they show how ridiculous your “facts” are.

I’ll say it again: your contentions that attendance and ratings are way off at ALL sports is simply incorrect. The data needed to show that you’re wrong is widely available on line and through advanced search tools.

You are perhaps the biggest user of “pigeonholing” or cherry picking of statistics of anyone; Golf is dying? Check the ratings Mr. Mogul. Course closings? About 500 in the last few years. Approximately 2% of all courses out of a total of 16,000. And that after the addition of 4500 courses in the previous 15-20 years. Too bad indycar isn’t “dying” like that.

You’re a fraud. You can’t or won’t post any real data to support your claims because you’ll “lose your job”. Please. You can’t because you don’t have anything to support your nonsense. Talk about needing to grow up. Ask your mom to let you out of the basement once and awhile.

110. Here’s the proof in your pudding: after nearly 20 years the current version of indycar hasn’t been able to attract and maintain a long term sponsorship relationship with any company. Bombardier, Northern Lights, Pep , Izod, amongst others. All virtually one and done – either not renewing or bailed ahead of their original sponsorship deals.

More proof: a trail of failed tracks and events: Baltimore, Louden, Dover, Richmond, Kansas, Chicagoland, Walt Disney World, Nazareth, Watkins Glen just to name a few. The ICS is like a locust plague; they show up, strip the land for whatever meager resources they attract and leave a barren wasteland behind, devoid of any life or fanbase. Attendance? HALF of what it once was. NO other national sport has had that “success”.
Editor’s Note: And even the series held up by the disenfranchised chicken little crowd did not measure up. Atlanta, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Cleveland, Denver I, Denver II, Detroit City, Gateway, Germany, Hawaii, Houston, Las Vegas I, Laguna Seca, Las Vegas II, Meadowlands, Mexico I, Mexico II, Miami I, Miami 2, Miami 3, Miami 4, Michigan, Monterrey, Nazareth, Netherlands, Ontario, Pocono, Portland, Quebec I, Quebec II, Riverside, Road America, Sanair, San Jose, Spain, Texas, Trenton, UK I, UK II, Vancouver and Watkins Glen, presented by FedEx, Havoline, K-Mart, Bridgestone, Ford, Cosworth, Lola, Swift, Reynard, Jimmy and various primary colors. Twice. As a self-proclaimed rational thinking adult is it not obvious that IndyCar, which continues running reliably season after season, beats the rather sordid alternative of actual failure? Probably not in the whacky alternate universe of the squatters.

The NFL usually gets great ratings, College Football, NBA, College Basketball, Olympics (every few years), Golf, NASCAR, Horsies IndyCar, and Soccer and baseball get good ratings for marquee events. Sports that are on US television that are rarely, if ever, rated higher than IndyCar include hockey (other than Stanley Cup finals), lacrosse, rugby, volleyball, Formula 1, sports car racing, V8 Supercars, NHRA, sprint/dirt/et al racing, monster trucks, rodeos, MotoGP, Superbike, demolition derbies, figure 8’s, boxing, mixed martial arts, track and field, tennis, hunting, fishing, cycle racing, mountain climbing, water sports, mountain climbing, equestrian, wrestling (not the WWE-type), archery, shooting, racquetball, X-game type crap, bowling, figure skating, Australian rules football, CFL, cricket, water polo, ultimate Frisbee, curling, handball, inline hockey, roller derby, dodgeball, kickball, softball, most women’s sports led by WNBA, and others. So as you can easily see, the same 9 or 10 sports that have always been more popular than IndyCar still are, and another 50 or so are still rated lower than IndyCar (or in most cases not rated at all).

And wasn’t it you that claimed that Indy and it’s stars WERE mainstream during the 60s and 70s? But now you like to say it’s always been a niche sport? Geez, make up your mind.
Editor’s Note: Again, your reading comprehension skills are not even commensurate with a fourth grader. IndyCar has always been within the same niche it is today, the primary difference is the sheer number of competing sports and entertainment offerings, which has diluted the landscape for most everybody. People knew a lot more about IndyCar in the 60s and 70s because NASCAR had not ascended from its southern roots and aside from the major stick and ball sports there was not a lot else. No meaningful cable television or internet either. Just three local channels and an independent in most markets. Despite the continuing off topic doom and glooming I am looking forward to being at Fontana and for next year’s schedule as well.

1. Think you can EVER have any original thought? I mean, criminy, how many times can you write the same blather-” and various primary colors”.

And nice how you don’t acknowledge that a huge chunk of the venues and sponsors you listed were IRL venues and sponsors that bit the dust after the plague of the IRL hit town.

And the bulk of the other sports you referenced have never had a major presence at any time on network or cable TV, whereas open wheel racing had been on part with NASCAR right up until about 1995. ( something happened then, just can’t think of it right now. …)

Indycar doesnt get good ratings for any event, unless you consider record lows for the 500 “good”. And if you do, I think that says more for your mental capacity than any words could ever illustrate.

Oh, nice qualifier NOW for the obscurity of indycar stars – the rise of NASCAR is to blame. Completely forgetting that Indycar and NASCAR ratings and sponsorship ( not to mention average attendance) were within tenths of a point of each other and Indycar as it was in 1994 had healthy sponsorship for pretty much every team on the grid.

Keep deluding yourself. Maybe if you repeat it often enough SOMEONE will believe you. The rest of us know better. So back to the basement, Disciple, and enjoy that milk and cookie snack mom made for you. See if you can figure out how to wipe yourself unassisted, ok? Let us know how you make out.

111. did you see the russian shitwagon pilot get into the grater at fontana? impressive as it was…..i’m hearing the ugly sled didn’t make it onto the radar screens at hatfield. as disappointing as that might sound, still an awesome effort. better luck next time.

112. sorry as shit about that post…..got two shitless race series mixed up. forgive me ya’ll. it’s lax that got the night off

113. Just another thought- it’s been at least several hours since you’ve posted something disgusting regarding Alex Zanardi under one of your multiple aliases over at IBJ.com. Aren’t you overdue?

114. Can’t be any dumber than you appear to everyone. Thanks for your concern.

And by the way, it was YOU that tied CARTS failure to tobacco money.

At least you didn’t deny your tasteless comments about Zanardi, while posting on other sites under random identities. That’s progress, I guess.

115. I’ll give you credit for being right about something (I guess miracles do occur, even for you). IMS is the only thing keeping this going. It was so much healthier when the 500 was a part of a viable series, say like it was in the 80s and early to mid 90s. But the Terra Haute Clampetts couldn’t stand the possibility that something other than the 500 could approach the worth of that one event. So they fixed it. It’s SO much better now. LOL!

116. You forgot to include Dan Wheldon and Tony Renna in their flying Dallaras, and Paul Dana, in his stationary one. And Papa Andretti nearly acheived earth orbit after running over some debris. Say hi to Captain Obvious for us, will ya?

117. By the way, your laughable fantasy piece about stalking women was every bit as accurate as your whoppers about being in the sports media business. You were exposed by both multiple posters at TrackForum as a serial liar. Or don’t you remember why we ran you off?

1. Changing my name only proves that I’m correct about this. You were caught lying about your credentials and drummed out of both TF and IMS.
Editor’s Note: You are not who you claim to be. You are a zero credibility fraud. Grow up or seek help.

1. Pot, meet Kettle. ROFLMAO!
Editor’s Note: Predictably the only thing on which the adults can count from the handful of kids crapping here is lies. What was it you said yesterday? Something about ‘…I’ll check back in a few weeks?’ But you’ve been back a handful of times on the past 24 hours. Actions speak louder than words, mental patient.

118. This shit again? Jesus. You cannot take your own comments spewed back at you? You are a total wimp.
Editor’s Note: Helpful hint: Comments related to the topic stay. Anything else goes here.

1. Like the mindless hypocrite you are, you don’t live by the standard you demand of others. Is that why you’ve essentially been blacklisted by the HG Family and IMS?

119. I know the difference but you didn’t engage in anything that could be interpreted as intelligent thought. You offered wildly inflated numbers based on no data yet strongly suggested they were credible. They (and, therefore, you), are not.

120. As is your typical way, when you’re unable to provide actual support for your outlandish positions, you offer petty and childish criticism and then relegate replies to such immature drivel to the trash bin. This was yet another example of an idiotic and wholly uneducated offering from you which didn’t hold up to scrutiny. If you ever hope to establish credibility here, you need to offer substantive ideas and commentary. Right now, you simply do not, and it’s why you’re not taken seriously by fans of open wheel racing.
Editor’s Note: Have you noticed that most of the commentary relegated here is from you? Helpful hint: Stay on the topic and your comments make it. Divert into this kind of immature stupidity and you end up here. Most adult people get that.

121. Again, you claimed 100,000 would subscribe and now you’re foolishly trying to deny it. No wonder the IMS people have refused your inquiries. What a joke you are.
Editor’s Note: Reading comprehension 101 – use of the word ‘if.’ You should try figuring it out. Also, in order for IMS to refuse my inquiries I would have had to engage them. I have not done that. Creating fantasy/fiction seems to be your only creative talent. Grow up.

1. Try looking at the words that you wrote. It proves what you said and shows you now to be a liar. It also demonstrates that you’re not the media professional you’ve falsely claimed to be. Only a fraud like you would make up such easily disproved garbage. It’s one of the reasons the IMS people won’t even consider working with you, as you know.
Editor’s Note: I’m being dead serious here. You should seek professional mental health treatment as quickly as possible. This repetitive, obsessive ranting has reached Mark David Chapman levels of creepiness and is very distant from normal. Seek help. It is available and you can be treated. Please take action.

122. Helpful hint: Don’t make incredibly ignorant claims and then offer childish insults when you’re proven wrong. You’ll not look quite so bad. No wonder the IMS people won’t deal with you.
Editor’s Note: It appears you keep trying to say the same things over and over and expecting some different result. You should learn the difference between ‘claims’ and ‘notions’ as well. Again, for IMS people not to deal with me either I or they would first have to engage the other. That has not occurred in this particular blog scenario. Is there any morsel of this with which you are having difficulty coming to grips?

123. And have YOU noticed that most of the commentary for ANY of your excursions into literary incoherence are from Bob, myself, or at best 1 or 2 other posters?

It’s pretty apparent that just about anyone that may have come here in the past has given up trying to engage in an adult dialog with someone that moves or edits every post that points out your inaccuracies. Your categorization that posts are ” off topic” is simply a smokescreen to cover up the fact that a comments author has proven you wrong. The overwhelming majority of comments address either your initial blog topic or points that you yourself raise in your replies.

It’s much better to comment at sites such as IBJ.COM where unless the post is judged to be obscene or offensive it generally stays up. Even your inane rants, made under the multiple aliases that you use are generally left for all to see. Which is a good thing; one, I’m for letting all viewpoints be seen, and two, your own words and tasteless comments about people such as Alex Zanardi and Greg Moore show the world what a despicable human you are. Keep it up, fraud, those of us that bother to drop by need the laugh.

124. You made a claim that you couldn’t support and then you backed away from it while attempting to twist what you said. That’s simply a fact. IMS won’t engage with you because your lack of credentials and “baggage” are well known and, as a result, you have no credibility with them. In other words, they would never consider working with you. You know that.
Editor’s Note: You really do make shit up and run with it, huh? LOL. Do you have any idea whatsoever how completely and utterly stupid you look?

1. Actually, we both know exactly why the IMS people won’t talk to you, in spite of your attempts to change that. once your true self was revealed, you had absolutely no chance with them. You know that.
Editor’s Note: So let me get this straight. Not only do you know everything about IMS finances but you are also right up to speed on all things HR too. LOL. Further, you are claiming to know my every professional move too. Big LOL. The only thing I know is that you are mentally ill and should seek treatment as soon as possible before you hurt yourself or someone else.

125. I “know everything about IMS finances”? Never once claimed that in any way, so you’re lying with this idiotic statement. “Right up to speed on all things HR, too”? Whatever babble that is, I never once said it, so lie #2. Finally, why have I been “claiming to know my every professional move, too.”. And that’s lie #3. Nicely done, even for someone who lies as regularly as do you.

But we both know you got exposed as a fraud within both the open wheel community and at IMS, which is why you’re persona non grata there. As for mental illness, you’re the only one here who repeatedly engages in childish name calling because you’re unable to provide credible, intelligent commentary. No clue whether that makes you mentally ill (though the commentary about your sexual conquests was certainly disturbing, if not entirely fictional), but you’re obviously not terribly bright. But even you know that.
Editor’s Note: Your words alone are indicative of very serious mental problems. You should seriously consider some sheet time at the nearest nut hut.

126. A couple of things, there DOUGIE Boy: 1. If the idiot in charge of this dump doesn’t want any comments or feedback he can easily disable the sites ability to receive comments. 2. Dipstick of Indycar wants the attention, and if Bob, myself and a few others didn’t respond to this dreck once in awhile, there would hardly be any attention paid to his sophomoric ramblings. 3. Why do you care? Don’t read it, dope. I’ve got a pretty fine life, thanks for your concern. Responding to this moron’s rantings takes a few minutes every once in awhile; hardly an imposition there DOUGIE. And when you consider how wrong he is, and how easy it is to debunk his B.S., it REALLY doesn’t take any time out of my day.

So, DOUGIE, follow your own advice: Get a life, and STFU

127. @Defender: my role? Same as yours. So logically my version of the story is as factually correct as yours. And given your difficulties with facts I’d guess that I’m probably more correct than you. YMMV.

The losses? Hey, the titular head of the family’s racing operations said a few years ago ( in a story YOU commented on at IBJ.COM) that it ( the IRL) needed to be profitable by 2013. And the subsequent heads of the IRL/ICS have both confirmed the continuing losses. So how much have they lost? As you so correctly (yippee, you’re right for once!) point out no one actually knows. But losses they are.

If you consider attendance of less than 10k at a venue that seats 80k, or less than 20K at one that seats 100k, or the acres and acres of empty space at a place like Sonoma to constitute a “crowd, well who are we to argue, huh?

Funny how my statement of “no marketing” doesn’t pass your smell test today, but YOU basically said the same thing a blog entry or two ago. Ain’t it great to take both sides of an issue? You are exceedingly terrific at it.

@fan:first, try spell check. Second, if the last twenty years have proven anything, it’s that there isn’t room for 2 open wheel series. And thanks to the overwhelming success of the IRL, it appears that there is no longer room for 1. Unless it’s fully subsidized, like most mass transit systems.

No motors for a new series either, given that Ford, Toyota, (they used to be there-whats up with that?)Nissan, Chrysler, Fiat, Hyundai, Kia, Subaru, Ferrari, et al are all busy working on their new lumps for IndyCar. Oops. Oh, and Audi, too. Right Defender? You pretty much confirmed and welcomed them to the series after Anthony Schoettle at IBJ.com wrote that little fantasy piece. LOL!

Have a nice day. Don’t forget to wipe.

128. As I suspected, you continue to offer nothing in the way of substance to support your obviously false claim that indy car television ratings are greater than 80% of all televised sports. Those actually in the media scoff at that whopper. Further, you offer nothing of substance in terms of marketing and promotion, merely saying that it needs to be “better”. Actual professionals understand that there’s much, much more to it than that. if you want to provide substance (and truthful data), this could be an interesting discussion. But you’ve never shown a willingness to do that.

129. As is your pattern, rather than offer substantive, mature replies indicative of actual thought, you devolve into childish name calling and a multitude of outright falsehoods. No wonder you’re not taken seriously.

130. Actually, only you scream by childishly calling people names while refuting your ridiculous assertions. Sad that you’re such a fraud

131. The level of discourse will undoubtedly be raised when you both cease the childish name calling as well as eschewing your habit of making dishonest, inaccurate posts.

132. I do know how to read, but once again, you choose to avoid commenting when you are exposed. Spin and deflect, your M.O. for years.

“Besides penny pinching any major decision that had to be made while he was in charge had to be made without running afoul of the France family, including supposedly foregoing high dollar sponsorship because Brian”…Where in that quote from you, does it state anything about Randy Bernard? You clearly state they walked away from supposedly big sponsorship dollars because they did not want to upset NASCAR, specifically Brian France. Give proof of this statement please, and if you insist on avoiding it and bringing up Randy Bernard, feel free, but if you do not give proof of what you are talking about, then just keep it shut.

Try and stick to the topic, not your typical drivel.

133. So much for that request. Pity, as it prevents you from having a site that could foster provocative, thoughtful discussion. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be a goal of yours here.

134. You took the thread in this direction and, when challenged, have failed to support your points. You’ve equated transparency with marketing, which it isn’t, you’ve not provided anything in the way of substantive promotional ideas, you’ve not identified funding sources for a high stakes triple crown, you’ve complained about start times but failed to understand how television programming works, and you’ve not provided any names of venues that choose to host indy car but are prevented by the series from doing so. As for the series, it exists because the Hulman’s choose to subsidize it. Period. Hope this helps.

135. Minimally intelligent discussion? Why don’t YOU try it for a change?

And I’m commenting obessively? Check again. A relative handful of posts over the last several years. But your definitions always strain the limits of accuracy, so sure, why not?

Have fun next year, dupe. Meanwhile, the 1.5 million FORMER fans, and their families will be doing something else.

136. It’s hard to believe that you are such a dope. Nobody gives a shit anymore, moron. You can pick any time of the year to run, but outside of the 500 no one cares. And stop bringing up other sports like you always do. This (indy crapcar )is the major failure, nothing else. Jerk off

137. It’s funny that you copy topics from all the sites you are banned and have to discuss them in your own little world.

I cannot think of anything more pathetic than that.

138. I can’t help but notice you have slithered back to tf as BretEarl. How quaint. Did you blow Condre? Dirk Douchebag is a more appropriate name for you at owr.

139. Actually, I have. Twice. Basic reading comprehension and the ability to apply critical thought are necessary characteristics for understanding the message, however. You’re a racing fan who’s consistently championed policies that have have dramatically hurt the series and its premier event. Bravo! The writer nailed it, as those with intelligence understand. Only the disaffected and bitter fail to understand that. The series remains in business because the Hulman family has elected to lose money to make that possible. That is the only reason it continues as a going concern. Earth to defender! The series is far from good. Sponsorships, attendance, viewers and general interest are all down. Mthose are simply facts that only the dishonest and unintelligent would deny. Facts. And there’s been no meandering. I’ve simply used facts, and you’ve once again failed to address them in any substantive fashion.

140. How typical of you. When you’re unable to support your childish assertions with facts, you ban people who call you on it. No wonder you’ve been discredited so consistently in the Indycar community.

141. Hey Defender, why not address the poster’s issues, rather than engage in the kind of childish name calling that has resulted in your exile from multiple forums?

142. Defender is BretEarl? Hysterical, as that poster is roundly criticized as one of the most uninformed on that site. Defender has been banned on several occasions, so I’m sure it’s only a matter of time . . .

143. Defender is Bret Earl? He’s been a fraud since he lied about his professional qualifications. This only confirms what the Hulman people know about him. Talk about a crackpot!

144. Defender is falsely portraying himself as Bret Earl on Trackforum? How pathetic!
Editor’s Note: Identical comment repeated twice.

145. And this horsesh#t comment is on topic?

I’m sorry. I just realized that this is just you under another name. Wow. You’re even more despicable than anyone thought.

Have a great Christmas, douchebag. Try not to die on us. We need to be reminded of just how fu#ked up you really are.

146. You and the other place fans only care for stupid songs and tarditions go figure. Do you know who won last year or are you still on your knees ? I amagione you will slurp up the new singers cum much like Gomer’s !

147. Tony’s laughable attempt to exclude Hinton really showed his complete lack of intelligence. Talk about a low class move that made him look idiotic.

148. I’ve attended and paid since the early 70’s. Which other steward / race director was so roundly criticized for endangering competitors?

149. Even if you delete the post, you’re still incorrect. Not sure why you choose to not tell the truth about this. It makes you look petty and immature.

150. Please provide the data to support your position or admit that you’re simply lying. It’s why you’ve been banned from Trackforum and why the IMS people won’t have anything to do with you.

151. Why do you continue to deny what is factually true? IMS reached out to NBC and NBC made it clear they only had interest in the 500. It’s well known in media circles that this was the case.

152. You’ve offered nothing to refute what McDonald said, other than incorrect assertions regarding sports ratings on cable. Obviously, you would offer proof of your position if you could.

153. Hard to market and sell a product that has been so roundly rejected by fans, sponsors and television viewers. And throwing Hail Mary passes like the Brazil race only underscores how desperate the series has become in their search for venues that will host them. Miles can’t perform magic, but that seems to be the strategy.

154. Loving every minute of the failure that is the irl. I noticed you quit your other hate site because there is too much good news to report. Good for you. Now you can concentrate on this pos site more. You are a good youthful irl racing enthusiast.

155. Why don’t you come out and admit it. The use of innuendo to hide the fact you are racist and hate black people makes you look like the pos you really are. Are you lashing out because you’ve been banned every where because of it or is it because we all know your wife weighs 300 plus?

156. Defender is unable to engage in any discussion without resorting to his typically childish behavior, so he deletes posts that prove him wrong. It’s why the IMS folks have consider him a nut job.

157. Defender can’t provide any data because he isnt in the business he claims to be. When the TF people figured out his true identity, he was promptly banned.

158. By the way, wasnt Barnhart the race director for the Las Vegas debacle? That event alone should forever disqualify him from a position of responsibility, unless safety isn’t a priority.

159. At least six instances of defender evading the fact that he’s provided false information about television ratings.

160. You keep dodging, defender. Why don’t you have the courage to admit that you’re wrong about this stuff? Simce you’re not the race fan you claim to be, it’s not surprising that you’d lie about other stuff, too.

161. Eight instances of defender not backing up what he says. If you were legitimate, this wouldn’t be an issue for you. What a fraud.

162. Eight instances of defender not being able to provide data. Those of us who know about sports media fully understand the actual data. That’s precisely why you have no credibility on this topic. Lol

163. Nine instances of evasion by defender. Don’t you get tired of having to clean up after your self made messes? Wouldn’t a step into actual reality be a better course for you, given your abject failure and inventing your version of indy car? You say you care, but you also deny the very problems that are taking it down the toilet. One can only conclude that you either don’t care or can’t see what everyone else can. Your side failed. Best to deal with that fact and move forward.

164. Most, by the way, were people who actually know and understand the sports media business. Universally, those people understood the dead end that indy car was walking into. It was never debateable for those of us who know this business. If you need insights into it, I’ll be happy to help educate you.

165. Still waiting for your proof. Nine deflections tells everyone that you don’t know what you’re talking about.

166. Pointlessly repetitive taunting on the IndyCar 2018 thread: I’m certainly not surprised by your inability to provide specifics to your unrealistic plan, but your response was particularly short on substance. My questions remain . . . Would you please take another stab at providing substantive, data driven (wherever possible) answers, as opposed to the pablum you offered.

167. I simply wondered if you were going to provide a more substantive answer than your initial offering. Not sure why that was an issue.

168. I see that WordPress has unblocked the messages that they had originally taken down or blocked from view on your site. Apparently their contact with you regarding your egregious violations of their Terms of Service and Privacy Policies has had some effect.

Congratulations! Not only are you a small, petty, and apparently bitter man, that can’t stand honest debate when it exposes your false “facts” and contentions, you’re also a spiteful, hateful little troll that apparently has no problem with possibly causing harm to others simply because they don’t agree with you. Exposing commenter IP addresses can make their Personal Indentifiable Information ( go look that up, genius) available to hackers and others that may or WILL use it to empty bank accounts, steal identities, etc. All to satisfy your childish need to feel superior.

Not sure if WordPress is going to do anything else, but they also have been informed about your unlicensed use of images and logos from other companies, embedded in your site. The companies themselves are aware as well.

So again, congratulations! You’ve been banned from multiple sites because of your obvious character flaws. Now you’re on your way to possibly being banned from your own.

Cheers.
Editor’s Note and Sage Words of Advice from an Adult: Seek professional mental help. You are obviously untreated and unmedicated and appear to be a danger both to others and to yourself. Also, no one likes a tattletale. That is behavior that becomes passe once you pass the fourth grade. Grow up. Seek help. Only contribute when you can do so as a mature human being.

1. You know what people like even less than a “tattle tale?”

A criminal. Someone that violates privacy and copyright laws. Someone that potentially exposes someones personal information to the entire web.

An adult can engage in discussion, and even disagree on substance, without trying to cause harm to those persons that you disagree with. Unlike yourself.

You should be proud of yourself. Much like someone in complete denial, it’s not YOU that made an error in judgment (gee, what a surprise) It’s the person that catches you that’s at fault.

And for someone that portrays themselves as a “media expert” your misuse of media ( images, trademarks/copyrights) is frankly astounding. Maybe all of the people that say that you are not what you say you are have been right all along.

You’re an unmitigated creep. A living, breathing embodiment of classless-ness. Whose response to being shown to be wrong is to try to inflict damage on anyone that does so.

Sleep well defender. And keep telling yourself that YOU aren’t the problem.
Editor’s Note: I’m sleeping just fine. I also think it is hilarious you choose to argue in this particular comment section. You certainly fit the criteria. My advice as an adult: Seek help from a mental health professional. Quickly.

1. Well, my dear Disciple, the placement of my observation should have been obvious, even to someone such as your intellectually challenged self.

This is where you chose to reveal people’s IP addresses, and where WordPress chose to block those addresses due to your violation of Terms of Service and Privacy policies.

I’d think that would be obvious even to you. But apparently I was giving you too much credit. My bad.

Again, sleep well. Don’t forget to wear your Depends(ter)

169. So merely asking you to provide substantive support for your posts is enough for the posts to be deleted, but you can continually slur posters?

170. So, why have a comments section when you’re not prepared to engage in any discussion? I realize you’re still upset because I revealed your career embellishments, but why continue to exhibit such immature behavior? You can still consider yourself an indy car fan, even if you’ve falsely portrayed your professional accomplishments and connections to the sport.

171. As I said, I know you’re upset because I revealed your embellishments, but that doesn’t excuse your immature name calling. And, back on topic, are you ever going to provide even a modicum of substance to support your wishful treatise? If you want to establish any credibility, you’ll at least do that.

172. Is there any chance you’ll actually provide even a modicum of substance to support your initial post? I’ll happily stop asking if you’d simply answer. If you cannot or will not, just say so and I’ll stop making the request.

173. So is your inability to provide substantive support due to your greatly embellished background in the media business?

174. The attribution lies in the results. The race went away, even though the IMS and the IRL badly wanted it to stay on the schedule. There was basically no benefit for WDW, however, and they said goodbye.

175. Good riddance to the piece of shit track. That track represented everything that is wrong with American open wheel racing. Defender and his ilk are crying like babies because their beloved FTony George and his track are now gone! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !

176. Some other fake name nailed it. I know plenty of people at the WDC and the interest in hosting a race at the WDW Speedway quickly faded after the first race or two. The events provided little in the way of additional revenue, they didn’t drive traffic to the parks, and they were a logistical nightmare. Thus, they were gone.

177. TWDC didn’t want the series for years. There was never a chance to have a race there again after the original deal concluded. It’s well known that the Company was looking for ways to end the deal well before it expired. The Burbank crowd never wanted it to begin with, and the data generated by the first couple of races proved them correct. Little traffic for the parks or hotels, minimal additional revenue, huge logistical interruptions to the activities on property. They couldn’t end it soon enough.

178. They didn’t have 15 years or even 15 minutes. The WDC didn’t want racing at the track after the failed IRL effort, and they definitely weren’t interested in dealing with the “leadership” of the series, which they found to be, well, wholly unqualified for much of anything.

179. Link(s), please. At least if credibility is the aim.

If I do the work, why should I expect to see it appear on your site ever? Unless I can find a public audio/video announcement from a name you can recognize at Disney, I doubt seriously you’d claim the information has credibility. Even if I did find such a clip, you’d claim it was fake, not from a legitimate enough source, or not the entire truth. Not interested in that exercise. Better yet – How about you tell us what efforts were made in the 15+ years since the last Indycar race at WDW Speedway was held to make it into a viable racing facility by the Disney Corporation? There is absolutely zero evidence supporting the notion that they were seeking holding racing there or wanting to involve themselves with any motor sport to that degree.

180. Blaming and shamefully attacking the victim, as you clearly did, only shows how small and immature you are. Now, you’ll no doubt banish this message and try to send me threatening emails (again), but your post is a classic example of why your posting privileges have been revoked at every site you’ve ever darkened with your presence.

181. That Busch hasn’t been charged with a crime doesn’t mean he won’t be charged with a crime so, while (A) is undoubtedly accurate, (B) is either premature (at best) or simply a knowingly false statement (unless the State’s Attorney has privately divulged something to you, which seems unlikely). Finally, the fact that Mario Andretti thinks Ms. Driscoll has a screw loose doesn’t change the pesky but unquestioned FACT that the Family Law judge declared that a preponderance of the evidence said that KB battered her. And that’s the only fact that matters to people who actually care about them. Blaming the victim never, ever works and is always the sign of ignorance and desperation.

182. You probably need to read the actual factual evidence published by the court next time before you write such a poorly conceived post. As usual, your credibility suffers greatly because you strayed from the facts. Now, banish this to the back forty because you’re unable to address things truthfully. Again.

183. The State of Delaware has not made a determination regarding charges for KB. If accuracy is important to you, you should correct this.

184. Hey, it’s a marriage made in heaven: a band whose best days are loooong behind it, playing at a venue and event whose best days are loooong behind it. Congratulations! You and your ilk have gotten everything that you hoped for. IMS in control and at the center of everything. Glad to see how that’s working out for you. LOL!

185. Well then jackass you should relocate your own blog comment since it did nothing but slam IMS and everything related to it’s current leadership.

But you’re nothing if not a fat hypocrite. Enjoy this s*** sandwich moron because this is what you wanted.

186. Well I’ll give you credit for one thing. At least you took a break from your recent stretch of misogynist, chauvinistic male pig rants about women.

Reading the crap you spew about the opposite sex really brings it home for anyone; that you’re basically a 4 year old boy trapped in a 60 year old mans body. Unfortunately the brain is still a 4 year old boy’s.

It’s’s not a surprise that you’re on your third go round trying to relate to a woman well enough to stay married. I’m sure she’s so proud to be married to you when she reads that crap that you write about women. It must make her and her parents so proud that she found you out of all the things walking around on the planet. Maybe she’s a special ed teacher at heart and just took pity on you.

You’re just a special creature, there D. Able to take all sides in an argument, and most amazingly, be WRONG on all of them.

Well, ask the little women, if she’s not “dripping”, to give you a peck on the cheek, and tuck you in. You’ve got to be tired after all of today’s incoherence.

187. More whining about your favorite series. So typical. Why not just move on. It will never be the same as those glory years, will it? No need to answer. We all know the answer. Lol.

188. So someone who used to call himself Defender but changed his name to Disciple calls out someone / anyone else out on the name game? Really? As for being stagnant, Verizon commits a very modest amount of money in deference to Roger Penske. That’s why they’re there. And, no, new sponsors aren’t signing on every week (at least at a rate quicker than those that are leaving). If it’s written into the contract (youve acknowledged ignorance on this) and no “bill” is due, why isn’t it the fault of the networks for not doing what they’re contractually obligated to do? Are the indy car and Hulman lawyers that bad, or is the series so weak and meek that they can’t demand enforcement of a legally binding agreement? We can certainly agree that the indy car leadership is consistently weak and ineffective and has been for nearly two decades. As a result, the sport is stagnant.

189. Everything I mentioned was perfectly on topic, which means you banned it because you were incapable of addressing it with a substantive reply. A familiar pattern for a hypocrite like you, defender / disciple. And for you and everyone else who posts here, efforts to harass me via my service provider have already been referred to WordPress.

190. Now THAT’S funny! I mean , REALLY funny. YOU’VE got your panties in a twist because someone changes their name when they post a comment? Let’s see, there’s Disciple of IndyCar, IRL Defender, Captain Obvious, Alex Hoppes, Alexis Shorter, Wise Old Sage for starters. And those were just the ones YOU used at IBJ.COM. I suppose that you can add BretEarl and Youthfulcartenthusiast to the list as well. At this point I’d have to think that all you’re doing with these inane posts and your feigned indignation about names is trying to tweak us all a bit; I guess that’s possible. It would work better if any if your diatribes made a bit of sense, but that’s probably beyond your capabilities. Oh, not that I care that much, but I’m not Bob, Sonny, Felix etc. If you had any idea on how to use or decipher an IP address you’d know that already. But the other side of that coin is pretty interesting as well: server log “dumps” from your host site reveal quite a bit of info about you, and where you are located, and where a specific address might be. That could be more useful to someone than your posting of people’s IP addresses. ( which, just to remind you is a violation of the terms and conditions of your blog host-you know those pesky WordPress people than contacted you previously about that practice). Have a nice day, chump. Leave a light on for us, will ya?

191. And here’s how that chat will go: “Excuse me, Mr. Boles. My name is Disciple of IndyCar. Can you tell me where the nearest men’s room is? Thanks.
Editor’s Note: Identical comment submitted twice.

192. Sorry, I had I wrong. Here’s how that conversation will go:

Defender: “Excuse me, Mr. Boles. My name is Disciple of IndyCar. Can you tell me where the nearest men’s room is? Thanks.

Doug Boles: “They’re right down at the end of the street-those blue Porta potties should be good enough for you. Now get your hands off me before I call the police!”

Fixed it.

193. Or maybe that conversation with Mr. Boles will be more like this:

Defender: “Hello Mr. Boles. I’m known as the Disciple of IndyCar, because of my undying defense of all things Indy. I’d like to share some great ideas that will propel Indycar to new heights! ”

Doug Boles: “Hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha. Oh stop it! You’re killing me! Haha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha! If I wanted to talk to a moron I’d just call Tony George! We’ve got his number here somewhere. Now get away from me before I have you arrested!”

194. What persentage of posted comments do you censor? Looks like a vast majority. Why dont you just disable comments? Dumbass. Lol.
Editor’s Note: 0%. That is why this repository exists. Any that are off topic and/or off the scale stupid simply get relocated. Comments are not disabled because several actual human beings have been known to provide interesting perspectives, preferably using adult spelling and grammar.

195. Another lie by the defender. You do censor posts; you edit them for content and change posters names, amongst other things.

My last post-your “conversation” with Doug Boles-you removed the specific name I included in “your” introduction of yourself to Doug. You absolutely edit/delete and re-word wherever you see fit. If that’s not a form of censorship then you don’t have an understanding of what censorship is.

Which frankly isn’t surprising, since you don’t have much of a grasp of actual reality anyway.
Editor’s Note: Off your psychosis meds again? Look, kid…violations of WordPress terms of service include, among other things, revealing personal information about others such as IP addresses, names, etc. Perhaps I should just allow you to step on that particular landmine and get banned from WordPress and not save you from yourself. But why would I do that when it’s fun to just let yourself continue looking like a four year old? Keep up the good work son.

196. That’s never bothered you before. You still have people’s IP addresses exposed on your site.

But now we all know that you’re full of shit; you’ve violated willingly those terms and conditions multiple times. So that pap about being concerned about such things is just another one of your bullshit stories.

You’re a fool, D boi. I almost feel sorry for you, because your miserable existence I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

197. 0 for 2. wat purprose does theis blog even serve, other than you showing how much of an asshole you are. Lol.

198. Who watches that stuff ( the EPL?) Enough people apparently, since it’s ratings are significantly higher than Indycar.

http://thebiglead.com/2014/12/19/epl-games-garnering-more-viewers-than-nhl-games-on-nbcsn-rights-fees-for-next-tv-deal-should-only-increase/

http://awfulannouncing.com/2015/nbcsns-english-premier-league-ratings-2015-date.html

http://www.bloomberg.com/bw/articles/2014-05-09/nbcs-250-million-bet-on-english-soccer-is-still-a-scoreless-draw

I’m not going to make any other observations about indycar and relative value to the network. They ( the network) are quite clearly showing what it thinks Indycar’s value is; as defender has droned on about ad infinitum.

Bottom line is that the EPL is holding it’s own relative to other programming, and drawing more than Indycar-all with all foreign teams, players, announcers and most of its sponsors.
Editor’s Note: Topic reminder…the off topic content above has little to nothing to do with the topic it was moved from. But, uh, thanks for contributing.

199. No surprise. A comment that speaks directly to your gripes about your broadcast “partners” treatment of the ICS, and also addresses the broadcast partner’s valuation of the ICS, as posited by Neil Rubin. ( which you apparently find “on topic”). And you censored/moved it.

You’re not interested in any give and take; you just want flattery from deferential spineless place fans like yourself.

Like I said awhile back, I hope you are enjoying this stare of affairs; after all, this is what you and the rest of your “place fan” friends wanted-IMS in charge of everything. And it’s working out so well for you. Soccer outdraws the ICS handily. And it generally airs early in the morning, not cexactly “prime time”. Just like F1, which also equals or outdraws the ICS.

Looking forward to the .1s to come

200. Post entered twice
Ah, comprehension. A skill that you apparently don’t have.

Your otherwise inane post made two points ( amongst a few other poorly presented ones):

1. Continuing poor treatment of the ICS by its “partners”

2. How the influx of “foreign” participants has contributed to the demise of the product.

In both cases, it’s instructive to discern/decipher the reality:

1.the broadcast “partners” have reached the conclusion the the ICS generates little to no value beyond the amount spent to aquire the rights and the obligation to fulfill the contract.

2. Foreign participants don’t appear to be hurting the ratings and rise in popularity of the EPL, since virtually ALL of its athletes are non American.

So lack of interest in the series from the “partners” is directly tied to the perceived value ( of which there is little) of the product. And not having a majority of the participants be Americans isn’t the factor you think it is.

As a media expert I’d have guessed that you’d know that. Maybe you are the fraud that everyone says you are.

201. (Four repeated instances of this troll post) What defender really means is: four instances of someone punching massive wholes in my (disciples) ridiculous contentions, that make me ( disciple) look like a blithering idiot. So I move them and label them “off topic”. See defender? At least that’s an accurate description of what you’re doing. So just for your edification: (repeat of post above).

202. (Repeat of last troll above, followed by…)

Hey, the last post that you moved you deleted a bunch of what was written. But you don’t censor. Nope, not you. If you believe that then I’ve got a Falcon IRL chassis to sell you.

203. Eight! Or maybe nine! Who knows! With all this fun I’ve kinda lost track.

So much for not deleting stuff. Last version of this post is gone completely. So you lied about that too.

So, just to reiterate:

(Repeat of troll post above) And then I give my dog a handy. See defender? At least that’s an accurate description of what you’re doing.

1. Another censor/edit job to try to change the meaning of what was originally written.

You’re not even trying at this point. Appears that you have given up – we all see what you are: a confused, bitter “place fan” who has run out of even the least plausible reasons and excuses for this wreck of a series.

Again, congratulations! You got want you wanted; IMS as the center of an increasingly irrelevant universe. And all thanks to the Hulman George clan.

204. Hey, just a follow up: Your words inserted into a comment on August 25th, 2014:

“Headed to SoCal on Wednesday. As an added bonus they may announce the expanded 2015 schedule there.”

So-how’s that expanded schedule looking? I guess in your world, fewer races = EXPANSION.

Whooooohooo! Breakout year baby!

205. Uh, Houston, we have a problem: “THE “NEW’ INDYCAR LOOKS A LOT LIKE THE “OLD” INDYCAR. MONDAY, MARCH 30, 2015 AT 09:12AM By Peter M. De Lorenzo Detroit. IndyCar, or INDYCAR as it wants to project itself, opened the 2015 Verizon IndyCar season with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg with much fanfare, much of it of the self-congratulatory, back-patting variety, I might add. Be that as it may, this was going to be the new deal, an all-new beginning for IndyCar. New aero kits from Chevrolet and Honda would have racing enthusiasts returning to the fold in droves, happy that Indy-style racing was finally retuning to prominence. Except that none of that happened. First off, to have the season opener on a ludicrous, truncated street course that does little to showcase the pure speed of these cars is silly. I get the whole “we have to bring the racing to the people” conceit, as that has been used to cajole cities into spending money on races they had no business agreeing to for years. But the St. Petersburg venue leaves much to be desired on so many levels that just to say “well, it’s warm, and it works for us as a season opener” isn’t an explanation, it’s an excuse. And a bad one at that. And the new carbon-fiber, shrapnel-generating aero kits? Where do I begin? Quite simply they are an abomination – festering, ugly contraptions that bring nothing to the party in terms of sex appeal. Instead, they’re generating a collective groan that I’m hearing from racing enthusiasts everywhere of, “Really, they’re going with that? That’s the best they got?” And the cut tires and other on-track chaos sure to be caused by them have already become the most talked-about feature of the 2015 season, and it has barely even started. I thought the “praying mantis”-style F1 car era marked the lowest of lows in terms of racing car visual appeal. But this, this is just plain abysmal. But that isn’t even the half of it. Mark Miles, IndyCar’s CEO, is hell-bent for the series to “own” an abbreviated season, starting out with races in foreign venues (beginning in 2016) culminating in a season closer over Labor Day weekend, so as not to bump against NCAA football and NASCAR’s Chase. But the logic is flawed and the plan is going to be costly, and on more than one level too. First of all, there is absolutely no danger of IndyCar bumping up against NASCAR or college football – let alone the NFL – because IndyCar doesn’t even register in the TV ratings game to begin with, unless we’re talking about the Indianapolis 500, so it’s a moot point. By pretending that IndyCar will do much better without fighting those forces is a level of delusion that borders on the unfathomable. The reality? The IndyCar season is comprised of one marquee event – the Indianapolis 500 – and a bunch of other basically forgettable events that fill out the schedule. It was like that back in the “old” USAC days and it still is today. It’s not an easy pill to swallow for people who are immersed in the sport of Indy-style racing, but it’s the High-Octane Truth. Major league open-wheel racing has become the Sideshow Bob to a sport that is already on the ropes in this country. In fact if it weren’t for the rote coverage of NASCAR by America’s “stick and ball” media – because that’s the only racing that they bother to acknowledge – racing would barely even register in the media at all. Secondly, team owners like Chip Ganassi, who makes his living by racing, understandably can’t see the logic of trying to keep employees of his IndyCar program occupied – and paid – for almost six months with nothing to do. The Mark Miles “vision” for the series isn’t financially workable. That’s not to suggest that IndyCar should mimic NASCAR’s death march of a schedule, but to spread the season out makes more financial sense for everyone concerned. I am absolutely confounded by IndyCar at this juncture. The Indianapolis 500 is still the greatest single motor race in the world, but the series surrounding it is a chaotic mess. I used to think progress – even in barely noticeable baby steps – would start to snowball into something, but that isn’t even remotely the case. What we have is this: – The aero kits were supposed to bring visual differentiation, raising fan interest. Instead they’re ungainly and resolutely unattractive, and with their shrapnel-generating appendages, we can look forward to a season of yellow caution periods, punctuated by occasional bursts of actual racing. – The Great Hope that repackaging the IndyCar “show” to compete for attention in a changed media landscape has so far been a nonstarter, and I see no indication that will change anytime soon, either. – Add the abbreviated schedule, the lackluster venues, and a national media that couldn’t care less and you’re left with what is supposedly a premier open-wheel racing series in this country that’s spinning its wheels. I’ve said this before and I’ll probably say it a thousand more times before I stop doing this website, but racing in a vacuum is not sustainable. What do I mean by that? Racing for the edification of the players involved is not enough. It’s fine for the drivers and the team owners, and for the few sponsors who have talked themselves into believing that they’re getting real value from it, but it’s meaningless to the Big Picture media-entertainment landscape, and it’s especially meaningless to the racing enthusiasts who want and expect more than that. And all of this is coming from someone who is a huge enthusiast for the sport and who desperately wants the sport to do better. One who wants it to be much more and to be worthy of our attention. What IndyCar is doing right now isn’t sustainable. The powers that be at IndyCar think they’re making a difference, that they finally have the bit in their teeth and they’re making a go of it. But all they’re really doing is managing the downward spiral. And it cannot continue, it pains me to say. And for the record, the best racing of the weekend wasn’t in St. Petersburg or even Martinsville. It was in Qatar, as the 36-year-old all-time great of motorcylce racing – Valentino Rossi – willed his way past Andrea Dovizioso’s Ducati to win the season opener of the 2015 MotoGP season. If only we had a third of the kind of interest, intensity and passion displayed in Qatar at the IndyCar opener.” Oh, let me guess, Peter is an ex CART hack writer, with no experience in the automotive industry. LOL. Spin this Disciple.

“INDYCAR: RACING IN A VACUUM IS NOT SUSTAINABLE.
DateMONDAY, MARCH 30, 2015 AT 09:12AM
By Peter M. De Lorenzo

Detroit.

You and about 5 others think that the season is off to a good start. Everyone else knows the truth.

So keep spinning , dodging and moving the comments defender. It’s your specialty

207. Think that you might actually post sources, quotes, links, etc to support your claims?

Probably not, but hey, we can dream, can’t we?

At least you didn’t try to claim my last post was off topic, coward.

208. Great. Since I’m in St. Pete right now and I’ve seen none of those things cited by any of the sources you list, would you please link them for reference? Thanks.

209. I notice you didn’t mention the fan getting hit debris and receiving a concussion. This makes you look more childish than ever. The klan must think you are just kidding around . I get you think you are some tv executive but I know for a fact you just install cable. Leave the ratings to people who really know. You are too retarded to ever understand. The numbers prove the aero shits have done nothing to increase ratings or attendance. We are laughing at you and you misguided attempt to defend a sunk ship.

1. Hey Ronnie, since you ‘know for a fact,’ I’ll bet you a thousand dollars you can’t prove 1) that Disciple installs cable, or 2) what company. I’ll be waiting. Thanks

210. Olderfan commented on New IndyCar Season Underway; So Is The Onslaught of Obsessed Chatterers

The legion of squatting Internet Television Executives have gotten neither more enlightened nor less deranged this year despite …

It would appear that not every St. Pete official is thrilled with Indycar:

“Woman hit by flying debris at St. Pete Grand Prix
Kendra Conlon, WTSP 5:48 p.m. EDT March 31, 2015

A fan revved up for the St. Pete Grand Prix last weekend left the race in an ambulance.

Paramedics say the 44-year-old woman got hit in the head by flying debris from a car.

The city tells 10 News it’s the first time a spectator has been hurt, and leaders want to make sure it’s the last.

Drivers didn’t even make it around the first lap of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on Sunday before car parts started scattering the course. Rescue crews say a collision caused a Frisbee-sized car part to fly over the fence. Brigitte Hoffstetter had been near Turn 10 by the Dali Museum, when she got hit in the head.

“There was a piece of the car debris that flew over the grandstands into the concession. A 44-year-old female was struck in the head by this object,” says St. Pete Fire Rescue Lt. Steve Lawrence.

She’s still hospitalized with a gash to her head.

“It was dangerous for the drivers, as well,” says City Councilman Karl Nurse. “We clearly, as a community have the right to say you need to provide a greater level of safety.”

Nurse is concerned about the rollout of the new IndyCar aero kits at the race. The parts are meant to make cars faster, but quickly became a hazard.

“I really am a little flabbergasted that they clearly hadn’t done enough testing on these additions to the cars, or they would’ve known they couldn’t withstand the speed and wind,” Nurse says.

St. Pete’s Managing Director of Development Chris Ballestra tells 10 News that the race promoter and Indy Car are responsible for the safety surrounding the track. It’s inspected to protect drivers and fans.

IndyCar says it’s investigating the incident.

The racing organization released this statement: “The safety of INDYCAR’s fans and participants is of the highest priority. The series is investigating an incident where a spectator was injured at St. Petersburg on March 29. This process is consistent with INDYCAR’s procedure following all race incidents and part of its persistent effort to make safety improvements. INDYCAR wishes the spectator well and hopes for a speedy recovery.”

Nurse says changes will have to be made before the cars race down the streets of St. Pete again.

“For the next race you can’t do that to us. It’ll amaze me if they don’t have this fixed in a few weeks,” says Nurse.

Councilwoman Darden Rice agrees, “Anything new introduced when a city is the season opener has to be looked at very closely. We do not want an accident to happen to anyone, anywhere at all, but we were the guinea pigs. Hopefully, the next city will learn from what happened here.”

A spokeswoman for the Firestone Grand Prix released this statement: “On Sunday, March 29, a spectator was injured during the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. She was treated on scene and transported to Bayfront Medical Center for further treatment where she was admitted and remains in stable condition. We wish her well and a speedy recovery.”

She wouldn’t address what, if any, safety changes the race will make next year.”

I guess the economic impact isn’t quite enough to overcome the physical impact to someone’s head, eh?

211. I simply asked that you provide support for your assertions. Simce you cannot, it’s easy to conclude that you’ve made these things up, as is your penchant. And you wonder why your credibility is so poor?

212. Disciple: “I am curious to hear what a real expert has to say.” Isn’t that what YOU keep saying YOU are? Good to see you finally came clean and admit that you aren’t ( an expert). Who’d have ever thought that you were lying all these years? ( aside from anyone with a brain)

213. Those are easily answered by people in the sports media business. Easily. Answered.
Editor’s Note: So when will you actually answer them for me, as I have asked?

214. So you not only cannot support your original assertion (because it’s not true) but you also can’t answer even one of the questions you posed? Nice. By the way, real sports observers understand that a network 0.6 is terrible, regardless of how you try to evade that undeniable fact.
Editor’s Note: Would you mind pointing out specific example of ‘real sports observers?’ Thanks. Oh, and you still have not answered any of my questions yet.

215. Nice edit. You could at least acknowledge your harmless little typo.

I guess that your ego is to fragile to allow that. What a baby.

216. missed the first race of the season, who knew? anyways, them are sweet looking rocketships. hear they were handing out free souvenirs to unsuspecting race fans as they were racing. now thats proper promotion!

217. “Editor’s Note: Thanks for watching. That actually matters”

Uh, only if he/she is a Nielsen household, Mr. Media Expert.

218. “He flies through the air, with the greatest of ease. That daring young Helio in his flying Dallara machine!”

Guess the wicker isn’t high enough. Helio surely was, however.

Crack technical staff of the ICS and Dallara in action. But I can get a helluva espresso at the Dallara “factory” though.

LOL.
Editor’s Note: I’m happy he walked away with both legs attached, completely uninjured and back in a car the same day.

219. And yet, are you aware of your hero posting photo shopped images of Alex Zanardi as Dorf ( the Tim Conway character) after he lost his legs on Track Forum?

Is that offensive to you jackass, or are you too busy sucking defender’s dick to notice the “missing legs” reference in his comments?

Swallow some more, DOUG. GULP!

220. Hey DOUG: So I take it that you’d also be offended if you saw that someone posted a photoshpped image of Alex Zanardi as Dorf ( you know, the Tim Conway character that basically has no legs?)

Because that’s EXACTLY what your hero Defender did. And managed to get himself banned at multiple sites.

Oh, and after you swallow and wipe the jizz off your chin, why don’t you ask him about his proclivities to post at IBJ.com, and track forum )amongst other sites) as Alexis Shorter and Alex Hoppes?

Or his little Youthfulcartenthusiast.com site where he posted videos off crash fatalities in CART?

But you’d have to get off your knees first, and take his dick out of your mouth.

221. You would know about lows there DOUG. As in how low you bend over to swallow another load from Gomer Defender.

222. Maybe IMS and the VICS should change “Race Control” into “Approach Control” given the projected flights and landings to come

223. Your fan club is pissed. Someone is hitting them hard and pulling them out to show the hypo’s they are.

224. Actually dipshit there are really people out there name Alexis Shorter……..I just Googled multiple people by that name. Go fuck yourself Olderfan.

225. Untreated mental patient comment one: ‘And you ACTUALLY believe that a person named Alexis Shorter posts here, and IBJ.COM and Track Forum? And coincidentally another person named Alex Hoppes showed up around the same time frame? Then you’re a bigger ass hole then Defender. And that’s saying something. Got an idea for you: find a bus or train, then throw yourself in front of it, OK dickhead?’

Untreated mental patient comment two: ‘And they all just happened to post at ibj.com, trackforum.com, etc. Along with Alex Hoppes who happened to come along at the same time. Using phrases and the distinctive “closed head injury” writing style that defender is known for. Sure thing, bub. Hard to believe but you’ve confirmed it for us: there IS a bigger ass hole on the planet than Defender. Congratulations Hank/Defender.’

Untreated mental patient comment three: ‘And YOU need to get back on your knees. Defender’s ready for your next deep throat gig. Just to be clear: Dan Weldon and Paul Dana references are over the line for you, but the Zanardi/Dorf ( not to mention all the perverse and disgusting use of Greg Moore’s and Jeff Krosnoff’s fatal accidents are just fine with you? Not to mention the Alexis Shorter and Alex Hoppes deal. Glad you cleared that up. Now be a good little boy, get back on your knees, and get ready to swallow. AGAIN.’

Untreated mental patient comment four: ‘Come to think of it, DOUG, I’m pretty sure that you don’t STAND at all. KNEELING ( and bobbing) however, you’re probably VERY good at.’

Untreated mental patient comment five: ‘Hey, on a positive note: all this air time ( including Special Ed, most recently)has generated some media attention on the ESPN “PTI” show. Got to hand it to those IRL pilots-anything for a story. LOL’

Untreated mental patient comment six: ‘On a serious note: with VERY limited running, 3 cars have had what appeared to be the typical indy crash-the rear “steps out” in the corner, driver tries to correct, car mostly backs into the wall. No big deal ( normally). Happens every year. But this year, 3 cars have gotten pretty significant “air time” , where the drivers fortunately walked away. In your expert opinion: do you think that there’s a flaw with these highly touted “aero kits”?’

Untreated mental patient comment seven: ‘I mean, these kits were extensively tested, weren’t they? It’s hard to believe that the technical staffs of the series, manufacturers and the teams would put their drivers in cars of questionable build quality and safety? You wouldn’t want to see bits and pieces of these cars break off and possibly impact spectators, or even worse, large pieces of the cars get into, over, or through the fence into the stands?’

Untreated mental patient comment eight: ‘Ohhhhh DOUGIE…Well, it’s a day later, and no response from you. What’s the matter, cat, er, I mean dick got your tongue?’

Untreated mental patient comment nine: ‘You know, you really are a jackass. Rather than go “full rip” on the mess that qualifying became, I tried to ask a couple of relevant questions and get an opinion from someone who at least represents himself as a passionate, knowledgeable fan. And you dump them. You’re a small, petty, self absorbed liar. You claim that you want on topic comments and welcome reasoned debate, but it’s not true. You’re a fraud. Good job Asswipe. Try to convince anyone that you’re really interested in anything but your own flawed reasoning and logic’

1. You need serious help and I mean institutional. I’m surprised the courts haven’t evaluated your ass yet Olderfan.

1. You know what HAS been evaluated Anita? Your wife’s ass. Not bad for a fatty.

Do me a favor, will ya? I let my socks under her side of the bed. Could you please wash ’em and leave them out for me? I’ll be back next week.

2. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Son you have some serious mental issues. Seriously. This is very creepy. Please get help. This is all parody that sails over your pointed little head. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

226. Organization is a mess. Management of IMS squeezing every dollar from attendees for overpriced food and drink. Tacky advertising signs. Apparently insufficient testing of aero kits. ( all as reported by old faithful disciple)

And what IS Defender’s verdict? Oh, it’s just grand! Greatest thing ever!

As Kevin Bacon once said: “Thank you sir, may I have another!”

227. Really DOUG? Ya think? The rest of us thought that he’d stroke along at the back of the field for a couple of laps, then pull into the pits, drop out with “handling problems” then hit the showers. Thanks for enlightening us, Captain Obvious. ( oh, wait. That’s one of defender’s fake names at IBJ.COM)

228. First off, congrats to JPM…it is time people started to appreciate what a mega-talent he is. As for your backhanded comment about him respecting the place, time for you to evolve and grow-up I would say. The race itself was pretty good, and you will always find that you will have accidents due to impatient drivers (Sato). I agree, this is such a long race, (pole position means nothing except for the fact you can saying you got it), that I fail to understand guys who just do not pace themselves. You can never win a race in the first corner, but you certainly can lose it. A few other notes…. – the crowd was definitely into it, but the empty seats were pretty obvious, especially along the front straight. – since IMS is keen on doing away with traditions, bye-bye Mari Hulman George. She does not convey a good image for the series anymore, let’s just leave it at that. As for your snippets about the guys who were sitting around your brother, they are entitled to their opinions. You may say they are juvenile, and a bunch of hypocrites, but then, so are you.

229. The attendance and ratings drops are facts gleaned from attending and observing races, as well as various media reports. Anyone with an interest can easily become better informed. Yes, Indy remains the best attended event, though attendance is clearly falling. The product obviously isn’t good enough to retain as many existing fans and attract new ones. As for NBC, they won because no one else entered the race. That’s well known.

230. In other words, facts don’t matter to you, which is why you continue to not have any credibility. Ratings and attendance are down, and your tired, unimaginative and unworkable ideas for Indy car, combined with your lack of honesty, mean you’ll never be taken seriously. The IMS people, including Miles and members of the family, consider you a crackpot. But you know that.

231. Why does the truth scare you so much? Perhaps because you’re part of the lie? Kinda like your phony media “career”? IMS people know the truth about you. It’s why you can’t get in front of them.

232. It’s all substantiated, Defender. That’s why you have a problem with it. It’s the truth, and you and the truth have never been friends.

233. Where is Tony George, you ask? He was fired by his own family for poor job performance. The damage he did to the sport is still being felt today, and will be felt for a long time.

234. Given your propensity to overestimate attendance, please link any word from those people. Thanks.

In order to “continue to grow”, it must first be growing. At best, it is stagnant.

And if the series considers stadiums with fewer than half the seats full and woeful television ratings a “success”, then there’s little hope for said series.

235. You’re an idiot.

After Bianchi’s accident there were plenty of people questioning the decisions of race officials regarding the use of heavy vehicles while cars circulated in that area. And the failure to deploy a safety car to more positively control the speed of the entire field.

There were also questions regarding the changing of starting times as it related possible weather conditions.

The results have been multiple changes to yellow flag and safety car procedures, as well as a review of the use of moving equipment to remove stranded cars, amongst many procedures that were reviewed following the incident.

“Pack racing” has been castigated in NASCAR only since, well, forever. The drivers hate it, many ( but not enough ) fans hate it, but, much like Indycar, the series management ignores those concerns.

Again, you’re an idiot. The only surprise have is that you haven’t yet photoshpped a headless driver at the wheel of a Marissa F1 car ( remember your touching Zanardi photshops, D-boi)?

236. Funny. I made those same points a few posts before you did, yet because of who I am the old purveyor of free thinking ( LOL!). banished it to the back forty.

Oh well. It’s reassuring to know that there are many among us the know what the reality is. And rather than using the space to express his condolences and sympa this to Bianchi’s friends and family he decided to go off on another error filled rant. Not surprising.

237. Alex Hoppes again is what you really wanted to say. You are such a douchebag. No wonder no one likes you. not even the idiots at track forum like you. You are one of the worst fans for Indy Car racing if not the worst. Your kind is why it is in the toilet it is. You have bent over for a track in Indiana. Amazing!

238. Sure there buddy. Altering a picture of Zanardi to look like dorf, and using Alex Hoppes and Alexis Shorter as fake names to post on other sites is what you consider subtle humor? And you call other people retarded. Look in a mirow jerk. You’re simply mean spirited and border line evil not to mention really dumb if you think we buy that subtle humor claim. Go jump in front of a bus asshole.

1. Speaking of dumb, can you tell me what a mirow is, Mark?
Editor’s Note: I think it’s Japanese for ‘small fish.’ Like his intellect.

239. Orientation is indeed difficult for some. Attendance and ratings for the 500 are at historic lows. Zanardi might boost the sagging fortunes of the race, but it’s hard to see why it would be worth the risk.

240. Wow! Someone who is a bigger ass hole than you defender. Didn’t think it was possible. And just as clueless as to the real problems.

We’ll done Timmy.

241. And more work from the hate site:
by Spicoli » Sun Aug 23, 2015 6:33 pm

total clown car shit show.

Justin – stick to sportscars, dumbass. :shakehead

242. So, what road racing events have been held so far this year? Oh, that’s right, NONE.

Nice to know that I’m living rent free in your, and some of your “fans” heads.

It might have strengthened your thesis if you had just waited for a road race or two to actually have occurred before spouting off about the non-viability of road racing in the US though. But why let that stop a good, incoherent rant?

243. Well, so much for thinking you might be interested in a little “back and forth”. But, guess thats a “no”, as you mark comments “off topic” when they point out the shortcomings of your logic. No surprise there.

244. Hey, remember when you cared? Looks like it’s been awhile. I’m glad Tony George could ruin open wheel racing in America so you could LARP the 1960s for 2-3 years before becoming a broke ass version of what you hated. You often bring up the fact that the 500 will outlast you: well, average male life expectancy is 76.5 and dropping. You might not see it happen, but I’ll get to see the fruits of your generation: Lake Lloyd claiming the whole infield at Daytona and IMS is a Amazon warehouse.

I hope you can come back to make excuses about how IMS made the ticket buyers last year not come back at Gateway but put guns to everyone’s head and fill up Portland and Road America. Don’t give that content to Trackforum. Did you learn nothing about digital media? Or is that why you got put out to pasture?
